Sorry it took so long to post I've been down with the flu and actually just got the computer hooked up here at the new house! I decided I may as well do it now since I am on pins and needles waiting for my husbands plane to land. I took notes when he called me so I could be as thorough (sp) as possible.

Michael arrived at the embassy at 6:30 am and says they were allowed in about 7:30 or 7:45. He then went to counter 8 where he gave them his affadavit of support , medical envelpoe, passport, birth cert, marriage cert and 3 passport photographs. while he was waiting he heard them telling some people that they had the choice to leave or stay because the computers were down and werent expected to be up til around 3pm or so. Fortunately, they started calling people by around 11am thank God

Right before ther called Michael he heard the interview of a Guy whoes visa was approved, he had the paper work and everything .. but just as he was walking away the CO asked him one final question "What is an accountant?" I guess that is the occupation that he gave them and the guy couldnt answer them ,correctly so they took the approval back!!! That scared the hell out of Michael so as they called his number he was very anxious.. not realizing that guy was there for a different kind of visa.

When the CO saw all the documents that Michale brought he said wowo is that all for me. I had sent him with 2 expandable files and 3 photo albums lol. Michael then took the oath and the CO started asking questions. We didnt get off to a good start because as I said before Michael was a little shaken up by seeing that guy get denied . The CO asked where was I born and michael told him the state , but couldnt remember the city so the CO highlighted the question. Then the next question was When did you first meet your wife? michael confused this question to mean when we first met instead of when we first physically met.. but after the CO said OH she was here three times Micheal corrected that error and was able to answer the question correctly. I think that because of these two questions being answered a little questionably the led the CO to ask more questions to be sure we were legit.

After the questions he asked Michael for emails from him to me. When he saw Michael pull out this huge file he says who prepared this for you? Michael says my wife did and the guy says your wife must be some kind of planner or something lol! michael bave him the from him and from me which was over 200 pages. he then went to another little room and looked over them. Michael says when he came back he didint look convinced so he immediately pulled out the photo albums and started showing him photos. The CO asked him why I didnt marry my kids dad. Michael explained the situation and then told him he was preparing to adopt the children and the CO smiled visibly pleased and said "So you will be a stepfather of 5 ?" and Michael answered I will be the father of 5, I am blessed ! The Co0 took the albums to the little room as well and when he returned he has a sheet of paper. Now keep in mind that Michael had just seen them give the guy a sheet of paper when he was denied so he immediately assumed that this was the big NO.. so he immediately started pulling more things from the file and was telling the guy hey thats not all I have more things to show you. The CO replied dont worry Congratulations you are approved!! Michael said sorry but my wife said not to leave without showing all the documentation lol (sure just blame it on me!) the Co says tell your wife that she prepared you well and then informed him to return on Tuesday for his visa.

The Questions:

Where was she born?

What city?

When was the first time that you met?

How long was she here?

Were you ever marries?

Was she ever married?

Do you have children?

Does your wife have children?

How many?

And she has never been married?

And they have only one father?

And she still never married him?

Where were the children when she came to visit?

How did the baby like Nigeria?

Why didnt she marry the kids father?

Again thank you all for your prayers and support. I hope this helps those with upcomming interviews as this forum has helped me in so many ways. The first leg of our Journey is complete. My husband will he home in 4 hours, but we still have far to travel. We have built so many meaningful relationships here at vj and i just wanna say thanks to all of my sisters out there! Just be prepared for my second round of questions lol
