They really didn't say Michelle. An acquaintance of ours tells us it will likely be a couple of weeks.

Yeah, and what excuse did he give his current job for missing part of the work day/training?

All I'm going to say is that we procurred what looked like a doctor's appointment......

A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. Simple.

Okay ..... they are formulating a pool of people who would be hired as Claims Representatives or Customer Service Reps. They have an immediate need for Claims Reps and are trying to decide if they need to hire more Customer Service Reps. (BTW I have no idea what the difference is between the two). They are also considering him for Data Analyst, which is more what he is qualified for.

So in essence if he did not blow the interview today (one never knows, does one?) then he is in the running for 3 different positions.

Claims rep= less headaches, heavier workload.

Customer Svc Rep = more like a call center.

At a health insurance carrier, claims rep would get the "Bills" from a doctor, review them for applicability as covered under their policy and either issue payment or deny, or investigate.

Customer Service rep would answer a call when someone has a question about potential coverage, need new insurance card, question about copay, etc.

Good luck!

Happy

Jayke

Just to update you all....

His first week at work went well. He's kind of enjoying it actually. He has found someone to ride with for $20 a week so that takes the pressure off the car and wallet - at least for the next 6 weeks during training. Last week I spent $110 in gas....ugh

They are hassling him a bit about the missed afternoon for his 'doctors appointment'. They want a doctors note. He will likely get marked for it and that means he can't miss any more work during his training (12 weeks) or will be fired.

We've heard no word yet from Blue Cross but that's typical this early on.

Stay tuned....and keep fingers crossed.....we appreciate your support...
