Kevin, i am a little late, i can teach Lei Lei how to fill out the forms. And I have quite a few friends also applying the k-1 visa, to be exact, they ae the beneficiary.

Here is the forum called 001, a.k.a the Chinese version of Visajourney. for your reference.

http://usa.bbs.net/bbs/01/index.html?ne=1∋=1

Tell Lei Lei~

Yes, you are a little late. We've already sent back packet 3 almost two weeks ago. But, thanks for your offer, and thanks for the link. I will be in China again with her for her interview, so I'll help her fill out those forms too.

LeiLei is lucky, I have to go interview by myself coz Vincent doesn't have any annual leaves.

Wish you guys good luck! If you need any helps in Guangzhou, just gimme a call. 13760 777813.

Hi all,

Just because I'm curious, how long did you have to wait from the time your case was forwarded from the NVC to the time you received packet 3?

Thanks!

We're set for 10 years!!

Great to see so many approvals! Congrats to all. We finally got an interview date at the Hong Kong consulate for June 22.

Final Countdown!!

Update on our process.

May 18 our file was released by NVC after 31 days in AP and "sent" to the Rio consulate. As of May 22, not received. Called back May 26 to be told by the US State Department our file was received May 21, Packet 3 was sent on May 21, and Packet 3 was returned completed May 21....but we never actually received Packet 3 !!! The SD said to contact the Consulate directly. So, we contacted the Consulate to be told they havent received the file yet. OMG, here we go again.:wacko::wacko:

I called the SD today to be told that Packet 3 was received completed, Packet 4 was mailed May 28, and an interview date was set for June 30.

With all that said....we never received Packet 3, Packet 4 not received as of today, and we have an interview date. LOL.

She is going for her medical exams on June 3 even without the packet 3 documents.

I am in Rio until tomorrow night and have sworn we will get this mess straightened out before Im on that plane back to Houston.

Gotta love our government intelligence.

Hello everyone. Congratulations for all the progress that you have made. Its good to see everbody are going forward with the journey.

A little update on our case. We are already married YAY. :) On friday we have a meeting with our lawyer to finally send all the paperwork for the AOS. We had no problem or waiting for the marriage license but it was interesting to find out that our county only perform marriages on Monday. So we had to find county that agrees to do it at the time we wanted it. Some of them don't do it if your license is issued in a different county. We waited a week or so to receive our marriage certificate. We got married by John Paul Johnes. How funny is that? :) I haven't changed my name yet due to all the complications it might cause. Decided to do it after i receive my green card.

Filing for AOS is realatively easy but need to go to a civil surgeon to update your vaccination record to a new form. He had to perform a TB skin test (i haven't gotten one back home) and waited for the results a couple of days. After that he gave me a sealed envelope which i should add to the AOS paperwork.

Hopefully it will all be done soon and we get to te waiting part again.

I want to wish you all the best of luck with your paperwork, interviews, POE and most of all tons of happiness with your SO.

Has anyone had an infopass appointment? If so, were you actually told any useful information?

I'm trying to decide whether it's worth driving 40 minutes each way.

From what I have heard, for a pending K1 case they have little or no benefit. A local office has very little control over a petition that is sat on someone's desk in Vermont.

If I were you, and as you are approaching that magic 6 month mark, you would be better off using this time to contact your local govt representative so that they can look into your case for you. Once it hits 6 months, then you are in a better position to kick some vsc butt and ask what is going on with your case.

Thanks for the response, Ellie-and-David. One of my senators has already put in an inquiry, but my congressman's office called me today & suggested that I make an infopass appointment to get info faster than they would. From asking around, I've heard mixed results, but at this point, I'll try anything... even a drive across town.

I'll see how it goes in 12 hours!
