We haven't been waiting as long as Sara, but it's been over a year since we filed, and about 11 months since our NOA1. USCIS says that we are in "background check" as others have mentioned. I have tried contacting my U.S. Representative and one of my U.S. Senators. CSC just sends them a letter that says we are in background check, and the Congressional representative cannot intervene during this process.

2007-11-30: I-129F received by CSC

2008-02-04: NOA1

2009-03-02: NOA2

2009-03-12: Received by NVC

2009-04-16: Sent to consulate

2009-05-23: Packet 3 received
