Why are we moving down instead of up on the list??? I started at 381, now we're 388?? :( I know that list isn't an official thing, but still I'd like to see us moving up!

because people like me updated their timelines and started as 180

Everybody feel free to move 5 spaces up lol. I checked the first 50 profiles in the waiting list so far and found 5 that forgot to update their official timeline when they updated their profile/signature. I sent them a courtesy reminder ;) I'm just worried about the people who joined, never posted, so we have no idea what their story is!

ROFL I love you!

Fantastic idea to remind them :dance:

I think it's because people with earlier NOA1's than yours opened an account with VJ only now. it's the only logical explanation... B)

It is indeed. I was moving up and down for DAYS before I got my NOA 2. Igor's list helped me a lot but in the end I was approved ranking 141 on the VSC list. So you can't really rely on it, altho I read somewhere that your approval is near when you get under 100. But I agree that it is very important to update the timeslines, otherwise the whole system and list just doesn't make any sense.

wow, thats a relief to hear that u dont need to go all the way down to no. 1. I did notice a few ppl on the list are listed twice.

Yea I noticed that, too. I think either both partners have their own accounts and therefore have two timelines, or some people made a timeline before they registered with VJ, and when they finally signed up they didn't know that the (previous made) timelines can be linked to their newly made account. But there shouldn't be too many double posts. I'm more worried about people not updating their timeslines, I mean you come here to VJ to get help and support during your visa process, so why not give this little bit of information back? The stats could be more precise, ppl would feel better and have an actual image of where they stand. Just my 2 cents of course

I think most of the problem is that the biggest wait time is between NOA1 and NOA2... this is when people are continuously checking Igor, USCIS... as soon as people get the NOA2, they're too busy getting on with the next step, preparing for P3, the medical, the interview, etc. that they simply forget to adjust their timelines.

so if the members from before dont update their timelines, we are forced to use a distorted igors list?

is there nobody responsible for cleaning it up?

Yes, there is someone responsible -- all of us as members of VJ and who benefit so greatly from it. Igor's list merely culls its data from everyone's timelines. Thus it can only be as good as the data it receives. And that data only comes from us, the members here at VJ. So, please, everyone, keep updating those timelines and let everyone know when the big NOA-2 arrives!! And keep the updates coming even after that. All of us will benefit.

yes there should be someone (administrators maybe?) who could maybe take down the timelines of the non active members on the site (the ones that obviously have abandoned their membership and updates) and to try and get igors list more up to date .

I realise that igors list is only an estimation but it is something for us all to look at and to see/feel that some sort of progress is being made during these months that we are waiting for NOA2. (thus the moving up in line getting closer to being approved ) :star:

I dont suppose that they are allowed to take off inactive members as they dont know the reason for why they have not returned, there might be unable to get on the net or have other problems, they might have abandoned the process. I know it is a pain but at least we know that we dont have to get to the top of the list before we hear anything.

I am just looking at it as a tool see see when someone is approved what their timeline is, and try to ignore my positioning, I hated it when I kept moving back but realised that it was new members joining

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US IN THE WAITING ROOM

It sounds like you are misplacing some aggression. Igor's list is a community service, provided for free, with the work involved in creating it and the hosting of the data all donated. If you don't find it useful, don't look at it anymore.

Or, if you think you can do better, why not turn aggravation into action? Create your own list, and feel free to exclude whomever you like.

Honestly, I don't understand the ire. It's not like you have to wait to be #1 on the list before your case is adjudicated, or that USCIS stops working on petitions because some people don't update their timelines as promptly as others.
