Hi, I'm new to the list and am soooo frustrated with the process. Anyone else notice that the VSC processing times web page changed from "as of Sept 15, 2008" (as it read last month) to "as of July 31, 2008" (as it currently reads)? Did we go through a time warp? I WISH there was a phone number to contact the VSC directly.

I noticed after watching that site for many months that the updates were always on the 15th. If you look closely at the Vermont Processing Times page, it has not been updated since 07/31/08. It would appear they have slowed down alot.

I'm not sure what is going on with the sites--they were updated on Sept. 15 (at least, California was), but then at some point they reverted to this July business. Weird.

The sites have been updated now (yay!)--they now read "6 months." Here's the explanation:

"The table shown below is intended to be a tool for customers to view our processing times. When applications and petitions are completed within our target timeframes, those timeframes will be shown (example: 3 months). If we are not meeting our target timeframes a date will be shown (example: April 16, 2008)."

If you have your receipt number from the NOA1 you should be able to track things online either by a case status search or by setting up an account and adding your case number in. If you keep trying and get a response that says:

"Case Status Retrieval Failed

This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center."

Call USCIS. We had that happen and turns out number on the back of our cashed cheque was off by one number! Good luck.
