DOS says case is approved

I am on AP since August 1st 2008. (74 Days yet) and i called DOS today the lady said its ur lucky day and ur case is approved. well i don't know what to do. coz DOS is not always correct. My friend who was on AP called DOS and they said ur checks are pending and the same day he got call from Embassy to submit the passport

Can anybody tell me what to do now where to call US Embassy or AMEX. or just wait for the embassy to call me.

Anyone had similar experince ?

When DOS says something like that it is usually correct. I would say to wait a few days (if humanly possible to be that patient) for the consulate to contact you because of the closings and complications in Pakistan right now. . . however if you cannot wait, I would email directly to Pakistan for a status check.

BTW, it may not be the best idea to call DOS again because some operators won't tell you when the checks are complete and therefore will confuse the ####### out of you. . .this happened to me.

congrats to you , i am also dealing with islamabad embassy , dos told me that " passport requested " and my case under administrative review , its still confusing if passport requested it means they are serious to issue me visa , if they are serious about issuing me visa why then it is under administrative review , i tried calling them today , no one pick up my lawyer sent them emails no reply , its black hole with sending emails to embassy

i got last email on that date "From: Islamabad, IVQuery [mailto:PakIVQuery@state.gov]

Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 4:05 AM "

Dear Attorney,

Currently this case is pending for an administrative processing. Unfortunately it is not possible for us to predict the time this processing still may take. However, we would like you to rest assured that we are keeping a very close eye on the progression of this admin processing and will immediately get in touch with the applicant once this processing has concluded. Thank you,

5-04-08- EMAILED CHOICE OF AGENT TO NVC

5-05-08- DS3032 AND AOS fee bill was generated today

5-05-08- paid AOS fee bill $70 online

5-07-08- AOS FEE now says PAID online, can print cover sht.

5-07-08*cald NVC and msg says AOS $recvd

5-12-08-DS3032 EMAIL Accepted

5-13-08*cald NVC and msg now says DS3032 choice of agent has been received.

5-13-08-mailed AOS i864 packet w/printed cover sheet from online payment (certified mail- priority)

5-15-08-AOS packet received by NVC

5-18-08 iv FEE bill invoiced

5-18-08 iv fee $400 paid online

5-20-08-iv fee cleared, able to print covr shet online

5-21-08-mailed DS230 packet to NVC via priority mail

5-29-08 aos ACCEPTED

5-29-08- DS 230 entered in system

6-3-08-cse cmplte.

6-11-08 case left NVC to chennai via DHL

6-16-08 case reached chennai

7-2-08 appt letter received by beneficiary

7-4-08 medical done in chennai

7-28-08 interview- AP for 4-6 weeks (awaiting name chk clearance-told by chenai operator)

8-20-08 chennai forwarded file to DOS- according to inquiry from congressmans office

12-12-08 emailed chennai embassy asking status of our case, and got email to send passport..

I don't know yaar. maybe coz my last name is Khan and Citizenship is Pakistani lol.

INSHALLAH guys u will get ur visas too really soon. u know when i start reading about AP at visajourney i thought i am stuck for 15 months minimum. but guess what u never know whats gonna happen. and then a day comes when u jump 4 feet up lol.
