Grr, I just called the NVC and I was told my case was not received yet, and that it could take about 2-4 weeks and sometimes even 90 days for a package to reach the NVC. mmm.... I guess i'll have to wait a little longer and try to call again in a couple of days... :hehe:

Glen

I was told this too when I called on the 19th. Yet it seems NVC receives petitions 2-4 working days after the NOA2 date. I hope this isn't cause for concern. I'll be calling first thing Monday morning in hopes that its already on its way to Montreal...

Thank you! I am doing an arts and crafts project in my Social Studies class today, so I am bit excited to see how it goes with the kids. Several teachers are out today and several of those who are here seem a bit despirited. I am pumped up! Graduating soon, interview soon (as soon as she sends in Packet 3, which will probably be this Friday), Spring break soon. . so much to be happy about and look forward to. I take each day as a new beginning with the kids. I always give every single one of them another chance, regardless of what happened yesterday. I find they are quite responsive to this attitude, and I usually don't have problems in my room.

I wish everyone else a great week too.

I have a quick question for you.

I've completed all the forms for Packet 3 and have been holding off sending them to the Embassy as Tom doesn't have an address yet. He's just arrived at his new base and will be in a 'hotel' on base for a while (max 30 days) whilst he finds an apartment.

How important is it that he has an address? Can I just put To Be Confirmed in the sponsors address box and then tell them his address at the interview? I will be requesting an interview for June onwards, but would like to send the forms soon, to get the ball rolling, and then send the checklist saying I am ready for interview at a later date.

I've asked this in the UK forum but if anyone has any ideas it would help. Thanks.

Good luck with the project. Being an Art teacher I know how demanding the process is. Sounds like you have a similar style as I do with dealing with your students.

Laura, I would say move forward. We did not need the address but every Embassy seems to be different. Do you pick up your Visa or will they send it.

When Balvino and I picked up the visa they gave him a sealed packet to take with us. If I remember correctly it says to open it at the POE. Does anyone know what is inside. I read the reviews for Atlanta and they seem pretty good. I little worried about two hours being enough for Balvino, kitty, and myself to get though the customs process.

I will keep you all posted.

Happy Monday indeed!

The visa is sent to me, but it's not my address that's the problem. The DS forms ask for the sponsors address, but Tom doesn't have one yet.

The packet they give you contains all your paperwork from the embassy and medical.

The sealed brown envelope contains not just the embassy paperwork and medical, but also your I-129F petition; it's your entire case. Do not open or you'll be required to return to the consulate to have it resealed.

Laura, I would recommend you do not split up paperwork. Wait until you have Tom's address and send it all at once. Not certain about London, but Bangkok would not be too friendly to the idea of sending it in piecemeal.

London don't seem to bothered. In fact the instructions from the embassy say to mail the forms, assemble all the documents and then mail the checklist. It shows all the embassy's are different, there should really be one standard. I'm going to wait until Tom has a proper address anyway.
