I got an announcement form the election board of madison county stating i could vote early in the election..from october 16-30 ...at a few selected locations, like city hall......

anyone else, having this in your area..or voting early?

I have heard that it will be easier to vote absentee this year in Richland County. They are encouraging as many absentee ballots as possible. I'd rather just be there when the polls open though. I like the ritual.

01/10/2008........Two-year green card in hand.

08/08/2009........Our son was born <3

08/08/2009........Filed for removal of conditions.

12/16/2009........ROC was approved.

11/05/2010........Eligible for Naturalization.

03/01/2011........Separated.

11/05/2012........Eligible for Naturalization.

When I requested my Absentee Ballot (leaving for Italy on the 23rd) it said they would start mailing them out 3 weeks prior election day, but I received it already 2 days ago...needless to say I am excited...my first time as a voter in the US! :dance:

U.S. CITIZEN SINCE MAY 8TH 2008

NATURALIZATION

28th july 2007 - N-400 mailed to VSC

(exactly on the 90th day mark...applications NOT returned although some scared me into thinking they could have!)

30th july 2007 - N-400 delivered to VSC

11th august 2007 - Delivery Confirmation receipt received

17th september 2007 - Money Order (FINALLY!) cashed

9th november 2007 - NOA! (notification period given 180 days)

21th november 2007 - Biometrics appointment letter

18th december 2007 - Biometrics appointment in Baltimore, MD completed

29th march 2008 - FINALLY received letter with interview date!

8th may 2008 H 8:40 AM - Interview in Baltimore-APPROVED!

8th may 2008 H 3:00 pm (yes same day, crazy!) Oath Ceremony in Baltimore

24th may 2008 - US Passport application mailed off

6th june 2008 - US Passport received in the mail!!!

I'll ask this in the naturalization forum if necessary, but do you have dual citizenship? My coworker's wife is a LPR from Costa Rica and he said she's avoided getting dual citizenship even though she could because she wouldn't be able to vote. I told him I thought she could vote with dual citizenship, but I want to make sure I'm giving him the correct information.
