Hey BarrowBoy--

Have you thought of asking them to expedite your EAD? Isn't it an extreme financial hardship that you have an excellent job offer that you need to accept?

I don't keep up with everything in this thread, so you may have already hashed this idea out. I see people that get the expedite and others who don't but it's worth a shot to try.

Really sorry for your frustrations. :(

WOW!!!

I stopped checking this thread about a month ago around post 30 or 35, cause it became so utterly depressing for me, each additional day as I fell further and further behind.

For those not familiar, I was in very eager anticipation to reach a milestone therefor allowing me to join the new US Army special forces selection program before my 30th birthday. I now will clearly not as I turn 30 in a little more than a month from now. But I am being positive and we'll see what happens.

Regardless, I got back from holidays and low and behold, FINALLY a glimmer of hope in my mailbox. My ASC Appointment Notice, biometrics, for Jan 13th! In Providence, RI no less adding at least a little sting to it. (I wanted and am FAR closer to Boston.) I was originally going to do a walk-in in Boston once I got the letter but now not so sure. Anyone successful at this in Providence? And Can one goto another location?

So, it only took a little over 2 months which most people get in two weeks. I am hoping now I will be back to a 'normal' timeline if such a thing exists. But at least I had a brief smile on my face when I opened it.

By the time this is all done with, if we are successful (God willing), I am probably going to jump off a building to celebrate. Oh, wait a min, make that a diving board! ;)

Congratulations and good job are in order to all these recent developments I have been reading here. And hang in there for those like me. Rosie if your altering the Spreadsheet can you add this development for me. Thanks so much! Appointment is for 1/13/2009 and I got it 1/1/2009.

TonyDanza, I've been wondering about you alot! Congratulations on finally getting at least somewhere! I read some other post that a Boston filer has to go to Providence also, so I wonder what's going on with that? I don't know if you can go to another location or not, but it took soooooo long to get your appointment you might just want to keep it!!! I'm glad you feel a glimmer, or light at the end of the tunnel, but make sure it IS a diving board you jump off of when you're done ;)

Hi everybody, I'm so happy this evening because I've received a letter from USCIS about requesting us to appear for the initial interview on Feb. 11, 2009. Do you think there's another interview after the "initial interview"? Yes........whooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh

I hope my EAD will arrive soon!

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

Oh Thanks so much BeanTownBabe! (F)

Wondering your and others progress as well. Just knew that checking in each day was adding to my already undue high stress levels.

I have to accept that if it happens, it happens.

Still massively behind, but we each have our own path, and caseworker...ha!

I will head your advice and show up in Boston on the 13th....Sigh. (with a small smile)

Insurance with both names- car, health, life, renters', etc...receipts for any major purchases which would have both names, anything showing joint address- that's all I can think of right now.
