Don't confuse off-topic with on-topic. Most people get the help they ask for in on-topic. Off-topic has lively debate. I don't want to change a thing.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I don't think it's a matter of taking pleasure in others' people misery, but rather considering your own needs/desires more important than the needs/desires of strangers. I don't think it's unreasonable that people want the best for themselves.

 Wow I agree with you. But there is a way to say things. No one likes this process more than the next guy, but for what purpose does it need to be made harder? I myself have to endure a very long wait, but that is not anyone's fault on VJ.

Sorry... I don't agree with you, and actually see that loads of people of people offer support/advise to other people that come and help... If anything turns "nasty" as you say, it's because people give their opinion on a certain matter, and whether others agree with it or not is up to them...

I don't see how others here make the process harder, I don't see anyone calling USCIS and asking for file No. XXXXXX to be delayed because " I don't like that person in VJ"... Sorry but if this forum was making my process "harder" I would try and find another one where people were "softer"...

But that is just my humble opinion...

Well I don't know what world you live in Jenn, but I dont know anyone that takes pleasure out of my misery in real life, it seems to only happen on VJ. :star: As far as sarcastic comments, that was in reply to yours.

I, unfortunately, know many people in real life that take pleasure out of the misery of others. It is a sad world we live in. :(

But if you're questioning summat from your Ontopic friends...why not ask them?

It was a general comment...not directed at any of my friends. Been going through different forums lately and have noticed it quite a bit...thats all.

But for those of you that want to make a flame war out of this...flame away!!! (not directed at you lisa, can't insult a woman with more shoes than me  )

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Why should it matter to you how other people react? If you're happy for everybody, good for you! But you can't honestly expect that everyone here is going to have the "it is what it is" attitude.

To me it's awfully complacent.

JMHO.

If you are not happy for someone or don't have anything positive to sayor even constuctive to say...then don't say it. Its simple. I don't get why some people get joy out of other peoples misery.

Everyone has their OWN mind. everyone reacts to the samething the best way they know how.

we all cant be happy about the same thing. or sad about the same thing. Try this for example: Try being happy about someting that sounded horrible. cant do it can you? you cant because you have your own mind and your own thoughts. if someone come on a message board and post a question they will get an answer good, bad or indiffrent.
