wow i hope my ead will be approved soon too!! thanks God.. btw, i still dont receive my biometrics yet so that means they really make approvals without that i still hope they will send it to avoid IV..

okay...so while I pray that our address change went through because we are approved now, I have a couple of questions:

1) Once my wife gets her EAD, do we go to the Social Security office to get her name changed on her card and get the "vaild with DHS approval" taken off?

2) What does the Travel Document look like? is it a card like the EAD?

3) What info is on the EAD card?

Hey!

What don't you have change your name yet? you could have change at the same time you ask for the SSN.

And no, DHS will still be there. You need EAD to be able to work, that's why it's written, to let the people who hire you to know that you need an authorization.

2/ the travel doc, looks like 2 piece of paper... from what I heard.

I just got my EAD approval email.

How weird is this? I decided today that I would call USCIS and place a service request as it had been 77 days. I called the guy and he gave me a reference etc and told me they would look at my case on December 26th. Half an hour later, my case was approved...........

5th February 2008 - I-129F forms sent for K1 visa (VSC)

26th March 2008 - NOA2 recieved via email

19th May 2008 - Interview............APPROVED!!!!!!

21st May 2008 - Visa in hand

29th July 2008 - POE

2nd September 2008 - Married

19th September - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago lockbox

25th September - Check cashed $1010.00 (OUCH!!)

29th September - Received NOA's for AOS/EAD/AP

13th October - AOS Petition transferred to CSC!!!

17th October - Biometrics (Tampa Office)

17th October - AOS/EAD Touched

20th October - AOS Touched

21st October - AOS Touched

6th November - AOS/EAD/AP Touched (probably due to change of address)

10th December - EAD approved

28th January 2009 - GC approved without interview. Done with all this till 2011!!!!!!!!

How come the guy on the phone told you that they will work on it on the 26th?! That's the first time I hear about someone giving you an exact date over the phone!

That's the first update since they recieved it back on sept 25.....on Dec 16 I am calling them. I don't care if I'm in finals, why are they taking so long??? you can tell I'm just fed up with this....... :bonk:

on a lighter note, congrats to everyone who is approved. :thumbs: ....can you rub some of that luck on the ones who are still waiting? please? pretty please? :huh:

Ocotber 10, 2008: RFE for I-485 (needed proof of citizenship for sponsor) :S

October 21, 2008: Biometrics @12 pm in Ft. Lauderdale~over and done with in 5min!!~

October 24, 2008: documents received at MO

November 6, 2008: Case transferred to CSC :D

Why aren't you calling earlier than Dec 16? My NOA is Oct.3rd and my day 75 will be on the 16th. I saw that your NOA date is earlier than mine, so your day 75 should be today!

Let me tell you God was listening to my prayers extra hard today!! and it is so ironic because i had checked earlier today and nothing, I wrote the post and after that I checked USCIS.........are you kidding me?? I am so happy :dance: i still don't see an update for the travel document yet but the EAD is approved!!! thank you Lord :D:dancing::wow:

September 20, 2008: Sent AOS packet (I-485, EAD, AP)

September 22, 2008: USPS confirmed delivery at LockBox

September 26, 2008: Check Cashed!! :)

September 25, 2008: Recv'd date on all NOA's 

September 30, 2008: Received all 3 NOA's: I-485, EAD, AP

Ocotber 10, 2008: RFE for I-485 (needed proof of citizenship for sponsor) :S

October 21, 2008: Biometrics @12 pm in Ft. Lauderdale~over and done with in 5min!!~

October 22, 2008: documents for RFE sent via Priority Mail

October 24, 2008: documents received at MO

November 6, 2008: Case transferred to CSC :D

December 10, 2008: EAD approved!! Card production ordered!

Dec. 15, 2008: Rec'd EAD and AP via mail.

March 2, 2009: AOS Approved

March 9, 2009: Green Card Received!!!

March 24, 2020: N400 submitted (online)

January 2021: notice stating no new Biometrics needed

April 15, 2022: Notice to Appear for interview and exam

June 4, 2022: Interview/Exam Day! 🥳

I just got my EAD approval email.

How weird is this? I decided today that I would call USCIS and place a service request as it had been 77 days. I called the guy and he gave me a reference etc and told me they would look at my case on December 26th. Half an hour later, my case was approved...........

Congratulation!!! :dance:

How come the guy on the phone told you that they will work on it on the 26th?! That's the first time I hear about someone giving you an exact date over the phone!

No idea, the guy was super nice, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. That's the first time I called USCIS and didn't get a person who sounded like a robot!

5th February 2008 - I-129F forms sent for K1 visa (VSC)

26th March 2008 - NOA2 recieved via email

19th May 2008 - Interview............APPROVED!!!!!!

21st May 2008 - Visa in hand

29th July 2008 - POE

2nd September 2008 - Married

19th September - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP to Chicago lockbox

25th September - Check cashed $1010.00 (OUCH!!)

29th September - Received NOA's for AOS/EAD/AP

13th October - AOS Petition transferred to CSC!!!

17th October - Biometrics (Tampa Office)

17th October - AOS/EAD Touched

20th October - AOS Touched

21st October - AOS Touched

6th November - AOS/EAD/AP Touched (probably due to change of address)

10th December - EAD approved

28th January 2009 - GC approved without interview. Done with all this till 2011!!!!!!!!

Let me tell you God was listening to my prayers extra hard today!! and it is so ironic because i had checked earlier today and nothing, I wrote the post and after that I checked USCIS.........are you kidding me?? I am so happy :dance: i still don't see an update for the travel document yet but the EAD is approved!!! thank you Lord :D:dancing::wow:
