Event Description

Embassy Review : Dijani had her interview on Thursday May 29th, 2008. She said that everything went nice and smooth and she was approved no problem.

Her interview was scheduled for 9:00am. She arrived at about 7-7:30am and stood in line. Right before she went in, a woman from the embassy came out and looked at some of her papers. She was informed that her passport pictures were n ot the correct size. This did not make any sense since all the paper she had just said "passport size photos" which was what she had. But either way she ran across the street to the mall and got new photos in the "correct" size. this was the only problem she had.

She went back to emassy and got right in side. She was called up to the window after waiting for a little while. She was met by her case worker who asked for her forms. He looked at the name and said, "This won't be any big deal. i know who you are. Ever since your papers arrived, your fiancee has been emailing me almost everyday with questions." They both laughed and he asked her to take a seat and he would be right back.

Once she was called back up,they asked her some simple questions like where and how did we meet and asked to see the pictures of us together. They then made her take an oath that she was going to marry me within 90 days of her arrival and then informed her that she was approved. They asked her to come back on Tuesday June 3rd, 2008 to pick up her passport with the visa inside and her sealed envelope which she is not supposed to open.

All in all, the interview went fantastic except for the pictures. I have to say that it must be a good idea to contact the embassy with any questions as atleast you will get your name in their heads!! It worked for us!
Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
