Folks:

My fiancee gave me some nice greeting cards (one that says thanks for turning my life around, for instance) that I brought back with me to the US. Should I include those in the K1 petition along with emails/phone logs etc. I don't want to lose the cards. Has anybody included cards as part of the K1 packet (I imagine they would be very useful at the consulate interview). Any input/thoughts will be greatly appreciated. thx

For the K-1 petition I included greeting emails that we sent to each other for Valentine's Day, Birthdays and Holidays that I printed from the internet, but actual greetings cards that we mail to each other I took to the interview to show that we also communicated by postal mail. Best of Luck to you both!

Make copies of the cards. You can bring the originals to the interview.

I think it shows that you sincerely appreciate the cards and that they mean too much to you to part with them.

I photocopied postcards and letters and also envelopes that had both our adresses as sender/recipient on them and where the stamped postage was visible. On the photocopies I highlighted the date that was stamped on the envelopes to show the timeframe and since I was approved in August I guess that worked for them.

Ditto. I sent a copy (and translation) of a birthday card I had sent to my husband and we sent copies of envelopes and brought cards/letters to the interview at the consulate.

For the K-1 petition the USCIS is interested in "proof of face-to-face meeting" evidence...

Greeting cards, e-mails, phone logs do NOT prove face-to-face meeting.... save it all for the consulate

Thank you all. This is just a great community. Glad I found it. On a different but related note folks, I had my citizenship interview today and will take my oath next week. One step closer to applying. Have been getting my K1 packet ready in the meantime. Boy, it is a lot of work assemblying everything but I know it will all be worth it. Soon I will be able to start posting my timelines here. Can't wait.

Did read other related notes about what to include in the K1 packet as it relates to proving/establishing on-going relationship. It appears it is not necessary at this stage of the game but certainly later on at the interview stage. Have some pictures of our engagement ring ceremony, which could appear more formal. I am thinking about not including those in the K1 app as I read other posts....
