Cheap airplane tickets

Hi everyone we are (me husband and I) to leave the US at the end of this month, to go see my mom in Italy and do the analyses for the transplants. We tried to search for some flights online, but each flight is like......$1500!!!! Dpes anyone know how to find cheap flights? We searched expedia.com, orbitz.com, travelocity and other sites. We dont know what to do cuz we only have $2000 (borrowed from Mike's buddy in the army). Any advice?

Are you a AAA member? The automobile club had the best prices each time I flew to Europe--although I went to France and Scotland, not Italy. But it might be worth a look.

Yup I tried priceline too and it gave me like $2000 each

I just got a round-trip flight for $800 through Oribitz from Boston to Milan at the end of June. Maybe try a route that you wouldn't normally travel?

I might try Milan as well. Yours is probably cheap cuz u bought a month b4. Wehave to buy it for the end on May max first week of July....thanks for ur help

Where you get the best rate often depends on what airports you use. Where would you depart from and where would you arrive? Also, days of the week affect ticket price.

buyin the ticket 15 days in advance i payed like 800$. Where do u fly from?

Try calling a travel agent, they have access to considated fares.

It would be a miracle to find anything less then $1200-1500 each for peak travel season to europe.

I punched in some random dates from CLE to Rome in June on the consolidator sites and nothing is coming up for less then $1477

If you give me some date ranges of when you can leave and want to return, and where in Italy you need to go, I can check for specific flights on some of the sites I'm a member of.

If you can get yourself to NY, the fare drops to around $1200..
