Our 129F was received by the California center on August 13. Since then I have been doing more research, came upon this site and read the guides. I'm afraid we might not have been complete enough. Does anyone know if you can send more information to be added to the documents?

A second question. My Canadian fiance is effectively moving in with me next month. What do we say is the length of and purpose of his stay (since it will be on a tourist basis). What should we avoid saying?

Thanks.

Does anyone know if you can send more information to be added to the documents? If they need more evidence from you then they will send you an RFE (Request for Evidence). If you send anything now, it will probably just get lost in the shuffle. Wait until they contact you :)

What should we avoid saying? He will need to prove that he has no immigrant intent to the satisfaction of border patrol. Anything that suggests he is not going to be returning should be avoided.

Thanks.

Effectively moving in with you is a violation of US immigration law. Visiting you is ok. Only make true statements to CBP officers. What is to be avoided is effectively moving in with you under the pretense of "visiting".

Not sure how you're going to explain the giant moving van coming across the border if he's moving :S

Because yeah, entering the country to live is a big no-no. Especially if it means overstaying his Visa. If he overstays, he could be banned from the country for 5-10 years I believe.

Guess I have alot to learn about the process. How long can he visit me then? It's hard to make visits to Canada when I work fulltime.

Hi ViVe!

Read everything you can on this site...the Guides are really helpful. For any specific Canada/US immigration questions you can check out the Canada Forum here on VJ where all the couples are going through or have gone through this same thing. We can offer specific information about the Canada/US process for you.
