Well, this has got to be beyond ridiculous...on the USCIS Contact #s Link, the officer at the USCIS London Office is listed as...VACANT!?!

LONDON FIELD OFFICE (LDN)

Field Office Director: Vacant

Department of Homeland Security/USCIS

American Embassy - London

Unit 8400 Box 0026

FPO AE 09498-4026

Phone: 9-011-44-20-7495-0551

Fax: 9-011-44-20-7295-4330

Probably since the list is not updated...but nevertheless there has to be a way to contact him/her, and I WILL find that way!

This may be a dumb question, but can getting an immigration lawyer involved when one is in AP, be of any possible help at all? I have been asked by friends if I have done this, and i said that it would not help. I have had my Congressman and Senator write (emails) but they get same response as i do- still in process..... no details at all....

^ I was stuck in my citizenship AP for 33 months.. first 21 months, background check was pending so lawyer wasn't even an option.. once the background check came out clear, the officer who connducted the interview decided to put my file away while I moved back to my country.. When I returned, I made an info pass appointment and the oficer there told me to hire an attorney otherwise I would never get the oath date.. I was shocked! I hired an attorney in July 08, I took my oath on Sept. 17,2008 without even going to the court or anything!!

So I guess you should wait until at least the background check comes out clear.. until then even a lawyer won't take the case because they can't speed it up!

Yes, it is true what you say. It has been four months for me, and that is nothing compared to what a lot of people have (and continue to) wait. I guess it does not matter what part of the world the U.S. Embassy is located in- AP is AP....

Well - we're back on AP. This time we were told nothing is needed just mandatory AP. Here's hoping the CO's comment about "as little as a few weeks" holds true [i know, I know - just being very optimistic!].

I have been under AP since March 2009 .

The USA embassy in Cairo sent me an email on July,30,2009 and they told me to send my passport to them .I sent my passport to them on Aug ,2,2009.

every time i send them emails to check on my case status they say '' the case is pending Consular officer review''

And every time i call DOS to ask about my case status they say '' still pending AP''

I don't know which one to believe . and i don't know if its good news or not cause they asked for my passport .i don't know if its good news or not when they say '' the case is pending Consular officer review''

Mohamed

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

My fiance has been under AP since May 12, and the embassy also has his passport with them since June 12. We, too get the response that the case is pending review by the embassy and when we ask DOS, they say still pending AP or AR sometimes. We don't believe anyone or anything anymore until we get the visa in hand. This process is horrible, I understand the need for security clearances and all of that, but there has to be a way to make it less frustrating because it really is difficult to know anything, who knows, maybe the file just sits there until they realize they need to work on it? There is no system of checks and balances to make sure that whatever needs to be done is being done.

Visa Journey completed, but we are still here to provide support! :)

Special Comment: Has a valid K3 and been living in U.S. 9 months before consulate interview for cr1

Also, is it ok if she comes back to the U.S. on her K3 visa whille this is going on? Is it possible to just cancel the CR1 in turkey if this is possible?
