I am a USA citizen, and will start a new federal government job in a few weeks. My fiancé is a Romanian citizen and lives Romania. She has a genetic disease, and is in a wheelchair. I have been to Romania twice to visit her, and she has been to the USA on multiple trips to visit me over the past few years. Once I start my new job I will not be able to go to Romania to bring her here, and her family is very busy taking care of her sick grandmother; so aren't able to take care of her for the foreseeable future. I wish to bring her to the USA immediately out of necessity, but we don’t know what the fastest method is, or if there are quicker ways for emergency situations. Can anyone please advise me on the best and fastest option for her to arrive in the USA? We intend on being married; so if that is quicker, then any marriage options would be good too. I am confused as to what our options are. I see K1, K3, CR-1, Direct Consular Filing, etc, and don’t know what the appropriate steps to take for immediate results are, if any? If I have to fly to Romania to work something out with the USA Embassy there, then I must leave immediately. Is there any way to expedite this process, due to our emergency situation, and my limited time before I start my new job? We only have a few weeks, and need this taken care of quickly. Can anyone help? Thanks

I highly doubt your fact and circumstances would meet any of the family based expedite criteria.... Even in a best case scenario there is nothing that can be done "in a few weeks".

Your best option is to put in for a K1 (fiancee visa) immediately, as waiting for a K3 (marriage visa) would mean you need to fly there and get married first, anf fiance visas tend to be a bit faster anyway. Once filled, you can request an expedite for humanitarian/ health reasons but I think it only has a small chance o getting approved as it isn't the USC that is suffering. Even with an expedite, the visa process will take several months.

Edited to add: another option might be a B (tourist) visa, in some countries they are approved very fast, as long as your fiancee can show strong ties to her home country. She could stay 3-6 months with that visa.

Since you're not married yet then a K3 or CR1 visa is out of the question. Same goes for DCF since you'd have to have lived in Romania for at least 6 months. So that leaves you with only one option which is the K1 visa but again, as Penguin_ie said, the chances of getting it expedited are very slim. It's worth a try though.

How much care does she need? I would suspect that any expedite process would require maybe something from her Doctor outlining the care that's needed for her. What if you weren't around? Who would be taking care of her? You might want to look into her having a care person to live in with her, someone that can assist her with day to day activities. I'd be interested to know if you checked out what kind of care, and who is going to care for her once she arrives in the US.

Hope something works out for you! I'm afraid I don't think this is an expedite situation, but I do think there are options that you have to care for her in the process.
