WHAT is the BEST way to present your N-400 package

So im doing it on 3 years based, but how do you set it out? like what is some examples to go about setting it out in the presentation of it??

i need examples on the cover letter, PLUS how to set it out, what should go first and "how" so its easy for them to read it, thanks!!!

Just include the things in their checklist in the order in which it is listed. It's ordered out pretty well. Actually the best out of everything we had to do so far.

I agree with zyggy, the list of things to include was really short so we just put them in that order and stuck a binder clip on it. I don't think we even used a cover sheet for the N-400.

We didn't use a cover letter. We just put the N-400 on top, and the other things behind that in the order the document checklist showed them. We put tabs on the bottom identifying each section as listed on the document checklist. We put a two-hole Acco fastener on the top.

Simply follow the checklist. That's how they will look at the package you send to them!

and if you dont have tax returns becaus eyou were a full time student and your wife was unfortunately unemployed? how do i go about that when the tax returns are what they are looking for?

Like i have morgage leases and all that, bank statements, but not tax returns.

You, know, I am going to stop right here, how come you never filed a return? My kids did through college, work study, grants, loan interest, part time jobs, how are you living? USCIS may want to know the same thing.

Tax returns are not required... there are three choices of proving the relationship... tax returns are one of the three. Including your lease, bank statement, etc., is also valid.

So how do you interpret this statement from the M-476 manual?

4. Documents referring to you and your spouse:

• Tax returns, bank accounts, leases, mortgages, or birth certificates of children, or

• Internal Revenue Service (IRS)-certified copies of the income tax forms that you both filed for the past three years, or

• An IRS tax return transcript for the last three years.

Deleting all the in between stuff reads:

Tax returns, OR, certified copies of the income tax forms, OR, tax return transcripts.

With your permission, may I copy your response and send that to my wife's IO and get all my original tax returns back with the W2's and 1099's? Wife said, if she didn't turn them over, she would have not been approved. These were the originals with the original IRS label attached, even the IRS was happy with copies of these originals. But her IO was not happy with the copies. I put those in with all of our other original documents as required.

But the issue here is that the OP does not have them, will be interesting how his case turns out.

Pretty simple to file the returns that weren't filed because of low income.

Gets rid another thing on USCISs check list.
