I need a bunch of passport photos for the rest of this process. Do I need to pay for passport photos or can I just get one and scan and copy it a bunch of times and save myself like $100?

  • March 25, 2008 Sent off I-129f
  • March 27, 2008 I-129f arrived at Vermont Center
  • March 28, 2008 Received and date of NOA1
  • April 3, 2008 Received NOA1 in mail-9 days since mailed off I-129f
  • April 18, 2008 Touched!
  • June 26, 2008 NOA2!!!- (email) 93 days since mailed off I-129F
  • July 2, 2008 NOA2 in mail
  • July 9, 2008 NVC received packet
  • July 14, 2008 Montreal receives packet.
  • July 21, 2008 Roger received Packet 3
  • August 1, 2008 Roger mailed off Packet 3 to Montreal
  • August 6, 2008 Packet 3 received in the morning at Montreal Consulate
  • August 11, 2008 Medical in Toronto
  • September 18, 2008 Received Packet 4 Interview letter
  • October 14, 2008 K1 Visa Interview Date
  • November 18, 2008 Crossed Port Huron border YAY
  • December 27, 2009 Married!
  • February 3, 2009 Mailed off AOS
  • February 9, 2009 AOS Checked cashed!

Passport photos are so cheap at Costco and they do them while you wait. I think they're like $6.95 for 2 (not positive if that price is right, but it's certainly close).

May 15/07... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Sept. 13/07... N-400 sent to NSC

Aug. 21/08... Interview - PASSED!!!!

Sept. 2/08... Oath Ceremony

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

Pay for the photos... there are places you can get them for cheap... costco for one..

I know a couple that went and had them done - someplace like WalGreens or Kinkos then made color/photo copies of them printed on a single sheet of photo paper so they had extras on hand for their AOS/EAD etc. Don't think they saved $100's though.. probably saved $10.. but hey.. :thumbs:

Well looks like I need 7 of them and last time I did passport photos it was like $20 per. Rip off for sure.

I just checked...$4.95 for 2 but I don't have a Costco card :|

The hard I part I see with passport photos is that they have to be JUST right. A little off to the side, a hair too big, and you're out.

I have photoshop, I suppose I should find a good candidate picture and widdle it down to Passport photo standards. They don't have to be photo quality do they? Just on photo-style paper?

CVS gives you a sheet of 6 for about 8 dollars. I have spent over $10,000 with lawyers and fees thru the immigration process and I find it comical to look for savings on photos. Nothing personal, just makes me laugh. :D

Wow. I couldn't imagine paying that much for this process. Figured I'd do it all myself and save a couple grand. Didn't think it would work out to $10,000. Kewl. I'm learning to be thrifty now. Going to have 4 more people relying on me so gotta start watching my pennies ya know? :)

check with your interviewing embassy's website, I know that for the interview the passport photos required for my fiance have to be current within 6 months and she has to take new photos because the ones submitted with our I 129 were taken longer than 6 months ago

We just got passport photos for our son. It cost us less then $8 at CVS for a sheet of 6.
