Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 23, 2008
Embassy Review : I arrived at 5:15 am, and there were about 100 people in line ahead of me, we finally made our way inside around 8:30 am, once inside it all moved fairly quickly, I am pretty sure that had I not attended she would have been denied, he asked her nothing, all the questions were for me. He asked how we met, how many times I had returned to visit, what hotels did I stay at in the DR, did she have family in the US, did I live alone, did she live alone, what do I do for a living. He asked to see my passport and photos only, although I had my tax returns with notarization bank and employment letters etc...he did not ask to see them. He said to her in Spanish "your visa is approved", and we were finished by 10 am.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
