I will never understand why people on vj will tell their personal business and downgrade their SO's on a public message board. I have read their demeaning posts and how they make fun of their SO's accent and pronunciation of the English language and think it's downright funny( but meant to humiliate ), the bi##hing about how the SO doesnt like this or doesnt like that or wont do this and wont do that...just the pettiest of bs. It makes me wonder why the insipid dummies got married in the first place.

Change your job, why are you working with such a bunch of ignorant ####?

That's why I ignore them.

The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver

March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

Fair enough :). Working conditions are one of the priorities for me, so I wouldn't want to work in such an environment even if I was paid better than I am now.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Lots of people marry for the wrong reasons. They'll date for a while and think, "Wow... Susan loves Chinese food, likes old movies, and hates going to the zoo too! We should get married right away!"

None of those are good reasons to get married. Marriage isn't getting to be "roommates with benefits."

Cause people change, and that person, or neither, were prepared to deal with each other changing, or change with them. Or that person changed for the worse. Or they were stupid and had a kid or something before they realized who they were really with. I find it's mostly like the latter. People think they know someone after a movie and a one-nighter. People actually know each other after a movie and two one-nighters.

This is such a sore spot for me. I spent 2 years away from my husband thanks to the Casa consulate. Marriage isn't easy, but to anyone who says something like that to someone who has to fight immigration just to have the right to live with your spouse should be put in their place.

Maybe because we are forced to be separated for a time, we appreciate our SO's more than most. I hear what the OP posted a lot, and I feel sorry for people. But then I wonder how much they bring on themselves by not investing in their marriage.

I do think that was the case with the guy who said he's sick of people scooping up all of the American women. That's why I changed work areas.

Many of my co-workers both male and female have approached me and told me how lucky I am not to have to deal with my SO and that I should be happy that he's in Panama and I'm here. They say things such as "At least you can spend your money the way you want." I really don't see thus as being lucky. Many of them also say that they rather be at work than at home dealing with their SO's.

Sad, but when I was married to my ex-wife, I literally could not stand being around her. From her boasting to people about how smart she was to her touting to me the benefits of new New Age religion and how I needed to join her in this "quest for enlightenment", I was literally losing my mind trying to cope around her. On Fridays we would visit her catty, sarcastic friend who would scream about reproductive rights in front of her two children, and I'd just look at her, not knowing if she knew we were childless because of my ex-wifes Systemic Lupus and Cancerous condition. Married life was actually pretty painful for me 4-5 yrs. ago...
