I guess I just expected better from Dubai, my mistake. They present a certain image for themselves. All of it's "glory" and all is just a farce to me.

Ok, drama queen :P

:bonk:

Sorry that I actually care about certain issues.

Lots of Muslim countries have that rule.

You can't enter Pakistan or Bangladesh if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport either.

In India, during the Muslim-pandering years of the 1970s, you couldn't enter India either if you had the stamp.

It's their loss. Israel, whatever your political views, is an engine of growth. You don't want em? Your loss.

I think UAE is kicking Israel's butt in GDP growth.

With all that UAE, especially Dubai, is hailed with and how high tech and kind of westernized it looks, I found this info to be very disappointing. It's supposed to be so progressive in Dubai, well I guess with just how fancy their buildings and plans look, but they are still bigoted IMO.

Since when does progressive = pro Israel?

Does a country have to be pro-Israel in order to let Israeli's or those with stamps from Israel visit? I don't think they have to say they love Israel or anything. And if they wanted to punish the leaders of Israel that'd be one thing. But they are punishing all Israelis and ppl who have visited there.

That is too bad. I really would like to go there myself. I had a friend go there last year and had an amazing time.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

I know about this all to well.

Every time I enter into Lebanon the first question asked is "Have you ever visited Israel?" and then the agent proceeds to look at EVERY page of my passport making sure that there are no Israeli stamps in it. Then the agent will perfectly place a Lebanese stamp in my passport. Most countries barely put ink on the stamp, but not Lebanon, you can clearly read it.

Now I haven't heard about other ME countries doing this, but I know for sure Lebanon wont allow you in with the other countries stamp.

Just so we dont make blanket statements here, it is possible to go to lebanon with an israeli stamp in your passport, you just need to get approval from lebanese immigration. Same story for syria. Syria used to (and may still?) give a hard time to those with jordanian stamps in their passports as well FWIW..... Two ways around the whole situation are to get israel to stamp you on a sheet of paper or to get an additional passport for this explicit purpose.

UAE allowed me in, at the time, I only had a Canadian stamp in my passport! And I had to beg at the Canadian border for it!
