I'm having a hard time interpreting the Processing Timelines from the USCIS website there is nothing specific for the I-485

adjustment of status for a spouse.

My application was received the first days of June, we already have the Work Authorization and Advance Parole documents, have already completed the biometrics, so what we have left is the appointment for the final interview; does anybody know when June filers will be interviewed? have any May or April filers interviewed yet?

thanks

It depends on the workload and schedule of the local office where the interview will take place. It is of no value to compare AOS interview timelines with others with different local offices.

For your local office it appears to have been taking about 4 months after NOA to interview--sometime in October may be likely

What the hurry? You already have the EAD and AP, and you are together. Relax and let the process take its course.

Check out the USCIS processing times for your local office to get an idea of how long it might take to the interview. Note, if you are transferred to the CSC, then an interview is unlikely.

I would be happy to be in your shoes. Our package went out first of June as well and we are still waiting for the EAD. Granted our Bio was only on 7/11 but my SO is dying to get a job. The rest of it can take as long as it needs. he just wants to work!

Interesting, why do you believe that "an interview is unlikely" my case was sent to California indeed, and more and more I am seeing that interviews don't take place; do you think it happens more often when California is handling the paperwork?

thanks

My understanding is that K-1's who are transferred to CSC from the NBC are approved without an interview. The files of those who are to be interviewed are transferred to the local offices, who then conduct the interviews. This happens for some K-1's and for most of the other visas.

If you say your file was transferred to CSC, then I say congratulations, most likely you will be approved without an interview. Good luck!

Luck of the draw. Being transferred to CSC doesn't guarantee "no interview" but the chances are very good that you'll be approved without one. Occasionally, CSC transfers an application to the local office for interview. It's kind of rare though from what I've seen.

NBC = National Benefits Center, I think that's who first processes the applications we send to USCIS lockbox. Not sure though.

Yes, NBC = National Benefits Center or the Missouri Service Center (MSC), which is why AOS applications filed with the Chicago lockbox carry receipts numbers starting with MSCXXX... They process first the AOS application and the interim benefits (EAD and AP), after which the AOS gets transferred either to CSC or to the local office for interview. In some cases, the CSC decides an interview is needed after all and transfers the file to a field office.

So, we have had no news of our EAD or AP paperwork but just got notice that our AOS was transferred to California. Should we assume that the EAD should be coming soon then?
