Anyone have good experiences with any free personal accounting software?

My download at home is all locked up and I'm looking for something new.

Quicken online interests me as I have used Quicken before; but connecting to my bank account worries me.

I love Quickbooks. Anything similar in a free download?

All products do have some way of directly connecting to your bank accounts or importing transaction data from your bank. Quicken and Money are the best supported products for the desktop. Quickbooks is really designed more for small businesses rather than personal finances.

http://www.mint.com/ is a free online product, though its still somewhat lacking in features.

http://moneydance.com/ is a cheaper product, similar to Quicken and Money.

I agree with the comments on mint.com.. I tried it for two weeks then then went to Quicken...

I use both. Mint is nice when traveling or when your at work, you can just log into one place to see all your accounts.

Maybe true but since I am basically lazy, for $3 a month, I would be all over quicken online so I would only enter information once...

Desktop & Web have an auto synch function

I have quicken home & business but since I no longer have a business I don't even bother. I just use a pen and calculator

I understand but since my Cayman Island and Swiss banks have now started offering direct linkage to Quicken or Money, it is something new to play with...

JG..i use microsoft money..but not sure if it's a free download u can try

I also use MS Money and love it
