Travel with Greencard

My son and I received our Greencards on June 6/08... Can anyone tell me if this is all we need to travel? Do we still need our passports and advanced parole? I'm sure that I don't need advanced parole anymore but I'm not sure about our passports. Thank you.

You will need your passport to travel also a visa to the country you are travelling to (if aplicable)

You should carry passport and green-card, when traveling out of the country.

NO AP needed once you have green-cards.

You will only need your passport to travel to a foreign country. And, the green card, of course.

Domestic travel only requires a picture ID with a name that matches your plane ticket. Once you get some sort of license or state ID, you won't need the passport anymore.

if your passport is still in your maiden name, then you need to bring your marriage certificate along with you.

Documents You Will Need To Enter The United States

All persons including citizens of the United States traveling by air between the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a passport, Merchant Mariner Document (presented by U.S. citizen merchant mariners traveling on official business) or NEXUS Card (NEXUS enrollment is limited to citizens of the United States and Canada, and lawful permanent residents of the United States and Canada). Children will be required to present their own passport.

U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs), refugees, and asylees will continue to be able to use their Alien Registration Card (Form I-551), issued by DHS, or other evidence of permanent resident status or refugee or asylee status to apply for entry into the United States.

Interesting. According to IATA:

Passport required; or

Permanent Resident/Resident Alien Card (Form I-551), provided

coming directly from:

- U.S.A.; or

- St. Pierre and Miquelon.

So, technically, if you are travelling to Canada from within the USA, one doesn't need one's passport.
