AOS Interview

Hi everybody, I am new to this board. I just have my AOS interview in NY yesterday. The interview took about 15 to 20 mins. The officers asked some basic questions and we showed her our documents. At the end she said she wrote down we had a interview with her today on my wife's passport. And then she told us our case is still pending because my wife's background check is not finish yet. Then I asked her how long is it take for the background check. She told me she has no idea. Is this usual??? I hope someone can tell me more about this.. Thank you very much!!!!

Yes, it's normal. Ours took 7 months to complete. Good luck.

Where did you have the interview exactly? Manhattan, Garden City or somewhere else?

In Garden City it takes at lest 6 weeks, for Manhattan office could be faster. But it can take also few months.

You didn't fill out your timeline - so I can't tell when your biometrics were done. For us they were done on the same day as the interview and the interviewer told me that it takes approx. 4 weeks for the biometrics report to be done after which he issues his approval - we received the approval email in exactly 8 weeks. This was in Denver. Yours could be similar.
