Email Notification

I am having a problem setting up my account for email notification. Two years ago I set up an account when we filed for my wife's green card application. Now we are working to remove the conditions. My problem is I can't remember or find the password so they won't let me set up the new case file number.

I have tried to get the USCIS system to let me change the password, but nothing seems to work. I even called the 800 number and spoke to someone that was suppose to know how to fix the problem. As usual, they were no help. It took several minutes before I could even get this person to understand what I wanted to do. I'm pretty sure English was not his primary language growing up.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

It makes no sense to me, since the USCIS web site even states that passwords will expire after 90 days. I mean, really? It has been two years since we used this service and they won't let me set up a new one because they still have my email address on file. I would sure like to fix this without having to get a new email address.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's not much help.

Sorry about that. I had the same problem and that's what I did to correct it. Used a yahoo ID!

I lost my password once and they sent it again to my e-mail, I think I had to type the answer to a specific question that you set up whan you create your account. If you can't remember that either I would do what Haole did, just create a new e-mail account and get your information again.

That's not much help.

But neither is the e-mail notification, especially if your application is at Nebraska. But, somethings never change!

I wasn't able to reactivate my old account either. It wouldn't accept any of the information I had saved from when I last used it two years ago. I had to use another email address and open a new one.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
