Love the "Spread the Love" idea!

Anyone found any great ideas for flowers...

Someone mentioned to me that Costco sells flowers in bulk? Anyone have any experience?

Hi Folks,

What we had instead of a guest book was a really nice picture frame with our wedding invitation positioned in the center of the matt (I think the matt was about 16" x 20" and the invite was about 5" x 7"?). Obviously one would choose a suitable size depending on the number of guests - We had a small wedding of about 30 people and that size was just right. We provided some nice looking, good quality felt tipped pens that the guests used to sign the matt and - once I get around to refitting the glass into the frame (hey, the wedding was only six months ago ... ) - we plan to hang it with some other matching frames holding some of the wedding photos.

I've seen some other examples online done with an engagement or other favourite photo of the happy couple. I would have preferred that, but my sister put the invitation in there and I didn't have the energy left for a battle about one more thing!:D

The favours we had were ... miniature chocolate bars with personalised wrappers that we made to match the 'order of service' that we had also printed ourselves; little translucent paper envelopes containing a mouthful of 'Jelly Bellies" (beans) that matched our wedding colours, and little individual tubes of bubbles that we added a small bow of co-ordinating ribbon to the tops of. When we left the reception the guests seemed to enjoy blowing the bubbles at us. (Many venues, including ours, have banned the traditional throwing of rice and/or confetti.)

For those of you thinking about tea cups ... Well, our reception food theme was an English style afternoon tea (very English and fairly cheap to do too!) so I was going to copy a much cheaper idea I had seen in a wedding favour catalogue - tea bags individually sealed in nice sachets which could be attached to a special card (or put in an envelope) with cute (corny?!) words like fideli~tea, loyal~tea, hones~tea, etc, printed randomly on them :P I did buy some special 'Fortnum & Masons' English Afternoon Tea' bags which I think would have looked nice, but I ran out of time to make the cards/envelopes in the end (possibly just as well?!) Still, you could do something similar with some posh tea bags - the additional wording is entirely optional!

Actually, we did get quite a lot of really nice compliments about the whole day afterwards, so I guess we did OK in the end!

All the best,

Sheila

A couple ideas I'm thinking about...instead of throwing birdseed, give each guest a small packet of flower seeds, to take home and plant...as a reminder of the day.

I've asked my future MIL to make a throw cover for guests to sign, in place of a guest book. Thought that would be a different touch, and with a guest book, I would most likely shelve it and hardly look at it.
