Work at home jobs

Are there any good work at home jobs to make extra money? I have always wondered if any of the envelope stuffing opportunities are legit or not. As everyone knows the US economy is not good along with high prices on everything so I'm just preparing for things possibly getting worse.

I would stay away from any of those work at home ads you see in the papers. They are usually scams which require you hand over a sum of money to start.

Indeed most of them are scams. I have heard of a couple of reputable firms that do call center duties from your home; but have never worked for them.

There is also a lot of companies that nowadays allow telecommuting, so you work from home certain days of the week. You might want to look into that.

I know a gal who works for 1-800-FLOWERS. She does order entry by phone and internet. She says it's pretty good.

I personally make cards and scrapbooks by order.

Medical Billing or Coding Can be done from home.

They collect claims, send them to you and you properly bill!

My grandma works from home - putting labels on some vitamin containers or something. But it's a family member's business, so it's legit. If you want to do something like that, probably best to find the business and work with them directly. Going through the internet will probably get you a scam.

Probably not. You need to have a company or at least an individual available to prosecute. These fly-by-night setups are smart enough to disappear before law enforcement and courts get involved.
