CS3 runs faster on Windows than on Mac. Adobe and Apple have been fighting so much that Adobe has threatened to stop developing for mac--which I don't think will happen, but still.

I have a macbook pro but as soon as I have some time I am going to install ubuntu and run wine.

yeah, i feel like anyone i ever talk to who has a Mac, LOVES their Mac.

what about viruses and bugs? is it true that Macs don't get bugs and worms and other vermin like PCs do?

(forgive my un-informedness)

Pretty much the same thing I hear. Ever since Microsoft decided to render my Money software obsolete and force me to not only buy the latest Money Software, but also upgrade my OS, they lost any chance of me ever giving them any more business.

just that most people tend to focus on PC coz its pretty common and the system is very familiar too... of course they can give mac a virus but i believe since PC is so widespread, they can deliver the virus and be famous real quick lol...

This is absolutely true!

Anyone who tells you that a Mac is inherently more secure and safer than a PC is full of #######. The reason a PC tends to get more viruses, spyware, trojans, adware, and other forms of malware is because almost every home user has a PC. So if you're going to create a program that'll harm another person's computer, what are you going to do? Send it out after the relatively small amount of people who own a Mac or attack the vast majority of individuals who use a PC? ;)

In any case, the one area where PCs really stand out far beyond the Mac is in the gaming department. Yes, I know Macs have some games today, but nothing compared to what the PC has. If you're not planning on playing games, then it really doesn't matter too much. Most software now has developed to be cross-platform (at least in some capacity). This is especially true of graphics and audio/video editing programs. Last I heard, however, most of the 3D modeling and CAD programs were PC-only, though. So you might want to take that into consideration.

Go with a Mac

Dreamweaver is the anti-christ; Front Page is Satan.

Hand-Coders Unite!

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I vote PC if you have a job that uses PC's and ever do work at home. Mac PC compatibly issues can be big. Also a consideration is cost. Ownership costs of a PC tend to be less. Mac has incremental updates almost yearly that cost $100 or so while Microsoft release Service Packs that contain updates with no charge. To each their own though :).
