Just did a search of VJ and google and can't find one story of someone being denied entry with a K1 in their passport.

I hope it's not true...that would really suck.

I just looked at a lot of reviews on the JFK point of entry and found no denials. I am sure that if they sent you back there was a good reason. They don't just randomly pick people to deny.

So when a person gets denied at POE, during the visa process..does he/she just get automatically sent back to & loses the money he/she spent on a ticket? Would he/she have to pay to return to their home country? What happens? I always wondered.

haha I saw a guy get denied at the moscow point of entry in Russia! he was an American and thought he had a double entry visa but he really only had a single entry visa! A official caim out and told him to go back to New York! They would not even let him enter the rest of the airport! I just think to fly over an ocean and then be denied and ahve to fly back over the ocean would drive anyone crazy!

Yeah! I must have made it up just to scare everybody here!

Look on the POE reviews.

Believe it or not... CBP can deny the entry of any alien on ANY type of visa. You can google the CPB website if you want.

I think the whole point is that the only people who are guarranteed entry to the states are US citizens. This therefore means that people with valid visas/greencards, whilst unlikely, can be denied entry. It's very rare for this to happen, but it surely isnt unheard of. I personally havent heard of a K1 being denied entry, but a POE inspector is within his/her rights to refuse entry to a K1 holder if they feel it necessary.

It's sad that it's happened.

I read a story a few years ago about a fiance being denied at a point of entry. The person was asked about their intentions upon arriving in the states and they joked that they MAY get married. Person was denied entry with a valid fiance visa.

My point exactly! An alien even when he/she has a visa (of any type) is always subject to the CBP inspection, and it is ONLY at this point when he/she is admitted to the U.S. if by the inspection performed by the CBP officer it is determined that the alien is admisible.

Here is one of the reviews I was referring to, I don't know what happen in this case because it does not says much: Houston Reviews, read review # 2.
