is meeting for only 5 or 6 days an issue for K1?

Hello. I have a couple of questions. My fiance and I have met twice, once in november (7days) and once in january (6days); we will meet for a third time next month, for 8 days, we cant make it for longer than that and I worry this will raise any red flags because i've read here of people having met many times and having stayed together for a month or so, would that be an issue for K1 visa?. Also, we're not sure whether to send the I-129f packet this month, or to put it together next time we meet and mail it after he returns from the trip, I suppose we need to meet more than twice in order to have more chances to get the visa. Has anyone out there met just once and gotten it?

I've also been thinking a lot about the medical exam and have been wondering about what they do to you when you take it, where can i read about that?

You only have to prove you have met in the last 2 yrs. Our visits were 5 days, 7 days and 10 days.

Did you email/chat/talk on the phone with that person before, during, and after those visits ? USCIS knows that people only get so many days off from work/school... so.. as long as you prove to USCIS that you've met within the past two years, and you prove to the consular officer that you have an ongoing relationship, you'll be fine

Yup You only have to prove that you have met once in the last two years. Length of visit isnt an issue. You need to prove ongoing relationship for the interview

Only have to prove you have met in the last two years is right. We met once and were approved and it was only for 11 days. We did have chats, telephone bills, cards, letters to show our ongoing relationship for his interview. Send in your papers as soon as you can, why wait.

At the initial petition level, the adjudicators at the USCIS service centers are not able to judge the quality of a relationship. Their only concern for petition approval is that you have met, and it is documented that you have met to their satisfaction; and that you have met the other points of the law, such as the petitioner being a US Citizen, etc. Phones calls, chat, etc. will do nothing to satisfy the requirements of the law in this initial process.

Now when the approved petition gets into the hands of the State Dept and sent to the US Consuate, these people are in a better postition the judge the quality of a relationship, and the fact that you havent spent much time toggether may or may not be an issue for them. Depends on the country, cultural differences, language differences, etc. They can judge better thru the interview, etc.

So for the inital petition, it will not be an issue.

I agree with them... And also remember to keep all your boarding passes, itinirary's, letters, phone bills, email and etc.. of your ongoing relationship.

You need to show that you meet into 2 years...

Keep as much informations as boarding passes, photos, e mails, phone bills.... You will need them as proof of your relationship in the future.

We met in person only once (for 14 days) when we submitted the I-129F.

Phew! now i feel lots better, thanks a lot for your replies; i suppose that if we meet next month and we send I-129f this month, we can include the tickets purchases and itineraries for that trip, and yes, we have lots of emails, phone bills and such.

Oh, i still would like to read something about the medical exam, where in this site can i find info regarding that? i requested medical visa twice last year and was denied, so, i was wondering what they do to you in the exam.
