Howdy! Welcome to our site! We are so excited to offer up a space where people can buy/sell/trade/give away their exboyfriend jewelry. God knows we all have it. Right?! RIGHT?! Ladies in the back! Wuz up?!

Yeah, anyway. A couple of months ago I was trying to figure out what to do with some ex jewelry myself. I had some lovely necklaces and a wedding set (oops, better luck next time) that were not seeing themselves to the door if you know what I mean. I went to a pawnshop in a GREAT part of town (by great, I mean horrific) where a lovely gentleman wearing nothing but a wife beater and a holster (no gun, just holster, not kidding) offered me $75 dollars for the whole lot. Hmmm, well, I'm no doctor, but that just didn't sound right to me, so I politely declined and backed out of his establishment keeping my eyes on him the whole way.

My next stop was the consignment shop down the street. Now those people had a real business going. I leave them my jewelry with no guarantee that I'll ever get it back, they sell it (maybe they call me and tell me it's been sold, maybe not) and they take a percentage. Well, that sounded great, so I did it! P.S. Somebody's got a diamond pendant of mine on layaway and she has a year to pay it off. Yeah, I only have myself to blame.

But, that leads me to EXBOYFRIENDJEWELRY.COM. I went to dinner at my parent's house around the same time and I said to my step-mom, Marie (She and I run dis biz together) "I want a safe, reliable place to sell my exboyfriend jewelry" and she says to me (The woman is smart! Career, kids, the works - she's got it going on) "Let's start a website where chicks can sell their old jewelry." DING, DING, DING! Brilliant just called, they want their idea back!

So that, ladies, is the origin of this site. We love it. We're using it. We want you to love it and use it, too. It's a fun, lighthearted way to deal with maybe not such a great time in your life. You live, you learn, you move on and you have a good laugh about it!

I'm bringing all my old gold (including this horrible ring my Italian ex gave me(it's fugly but it's 18K)) to Nepal with me, melting it down and having a bigger mangalsutra made of it - wish I had thought to bring it last year when we got married...

For those who don't know, a mangalsutra is a gold pendant which traditionally signifies marriage in the Hindu tradition.
