Dear all,

My fiance filed the I-129 and NOA1 was issued on Dec 7th 2007.

We sent petition by the help of lawyer. In the I-129F instruction it was told that we had to attach relationship proof. when my fiance brought bunch of our relationship proof to the lawyer (letters, cards, photos), lawyer returned most of them and only attached 2 of our pics along with the petition. He said to my fiance, I should just bring the rest of proof on the interview.

It's been almost four months and We are worried that something wrong happened with our petition. So I want to know what all of you attached as relationship proof when u filed the I-129F petition. I am worried that those 2 pics were not considered sufficient, yet that's what our legal advice did, and that that rest of our -abundant- prood shall be brought on my interview once our case is approved.

Pls give response and advice as to our case!

Many thanks in advance

I used a lawyer 2! And she sent in about 75 of my pictures! filed december 4 got approved febuary 22! My service center is vermont though that is usually quicker then the california service center! i think yuo will be find though and your petition will probably be approved in around 2 months because its the california service center! And if they dont have enough evidence they will email you or send you a letter requesting more information! So you shouild be fine give it another month and a half to 2 months))) you can also check your status online!

Looks like you double posted..........................here is what I said in the other thread.

If what the lawyer did submit is not enough evidence, you will get an RFE. No big deal really, just submit what the lawyer didn't submit to begin with.

When I submitted my petition, I only provided some photos, copy of my finacee's and my passport showing entry and exit stamps when we traveled together, some phone bills, Western Union receipts and a two page letter detailing how we met.

The bulk of our evidence of relationship I sent to her to take to the interview.

Have your fiance call the service center handling the petition to check on the status of it, read this link for details:

I just submitted 2 photos of us together and 1 with the family and his passport stamps and got approved so I dont think it has to be plenty.

Letters, emails, cards, bank statements or money transfer receipts and phone bills are the stuffs that Im preparing to bring with me during the interview.

OP, it might be wise to prepare for an RFE, but hope for the best; you might be one of the lucky ones ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Many thanks! I feel better

Althought I keep wondering if any of you have had RFE sent to you. Pls let me know, how long did it take for USCIS to send u RFE asking for more proof of relationship? Is 3 month wait like what we are having now is normal, with the fact that we're not even sent RFE yet? Indeed we provided plenty evidences yet the lawyer returned most of them!

Folks, I would really appreciate it if you can pls let me know!

Cheers

We sent 4 photos I think, a few postcards and stamps from passports...though I think for I-129F to be approved you just have to proof that you met in the last 2 years in person...so I think even if your lawyer sent only 2 pics your petition might be just fine :) You will see...definately take the rest of the stuff to the interview

All the petitions are adjudicated on a case by case basis, so there's really no predicting if you'll get an RFE or not.

With the Petition, you don't need to send in any of that 'proof of an ongoing relationship', they'll ask for all of that later at your interview. But I am a bit concerned that you didn't mention whether or not your lawyer sent in the primary evidence that you guys have been together in the last 2 years. What they're really looking for at this stage is solid proof like airplane tickets, hotel receipts, even restaurant and event receipts.

If your lawyer sent in this sort of stuff, I'd say you should be fine and you wouldn't usually get an RFE for lack of evidence. It's pretty normal with the CSC that you should have to wait this long for the NOA2 though it sucks, I know :( There's just a really big backlog so try to be patient and as someone else said, if you get an RFE it'll only delay you a couple weeks and it's not the end of the world, so try not to worry.

I know that after a certain amount of time has passed, people start advising you to try calling the Center to inquire about your petition or even calling your senator to try to get the ball moving...but I don't know how long you're meant to wait. There are tons and tons of people that have waited much longer for their NOA2 without hearing a peep out of the Center, but if you're worried I guess it won't hurt to try to call them.

I don't know if they'll be able to tell you anything though :\

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

I thought the same thing... Certifiable evidence that you have met within the last two years is much more important at this stage of the game..

Hello, other than 2 pics of our last meetings, lawyer also included his stamped passport pages proving that he had visited me for 2 times for the last 2 yrs. And also copy of my b2 (us tourist visa) as proof that i also visited him there.

I hope that sounds ok :( if its the proof that we have met looks like i dont have to worry, if its proof of on going relationship well i feel bad abt lawyer returning most of our prepared evidence :(

All he included as primary evidence of meeting was the passport stamps? (pictures are secondary evidence) .. That seems a little weak but probably still ok. If you do get RFE'ed it is much more likely to be for more evidence of meeting than evidence of relationship.

Of course, some RFE's just seem random... Do ya feel lucky?

Don't worry about it. Worst case scenario means you have to straighten out an RFE. No point even stressing about that possibility now (easier said than done, I know).

Hi Jesse, I plan to send him my boarding passes ( when i visited him in states) And some old tickets (when we had trip together), plus my stamped passport ticket, then add lodge receipt during his stays when he was here, do you think it'll be adequate evidence?

For boarding passes and old tickets, should it be original or copies? Many thanks for ur response :)

Photocopies are usually sufficient. When you get to the interview phase, the most important thing is to show a continuing, bona fide relationship. The trips are definitely good evidence of that, but you might also want to include phone statements, cards/letters exchanged, things like that (online chat transcripts and email printouts are worthless, imho).

that said, I was never asked for a single item of proof of ongoing relationship at interview... it differs a LOT from embassy to embassy, and I would imagine even from interviewer to interviewer ;)

including the passport stamps is definitely way better than just two photos! you may well swing it ;)
