whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat a greaat relief...we just had an succesfull green card interview yesterday at the chicago office. the interview officer was nice and asked my wife my date of birth, where I worked and where we live. And then he said I am going to approve your case and you should recieve your greencard within two weeks. We also got those CRIS emails saying card production ordered.

But now just a little problem. Yesterday when the officer said, you are approved, we were just happy to hear that and we left the building. But then I realized that he did not put anything in our passport saying we have been approved. Did anybody from here got any proof after their sucesfull interview..??

I mean, what if the greencard does not come in the next two weeks and my wife wants to apply for a job or anything like that. (they took the EAD card). What do we use for the alien registration number for her..??? ne helps/tips/suggestions.. please.?

Most DOs have stopped issuing I-551 stamps during AOS interviews. You'll have to wait for the green card.

I-551 stamps are rare these days, but the GC should be in your hands within the 2 weeks.

Same problem here. The office approved the case and said the card would come in the mail, but we went with a lawyer who insisted that the office either provides us with a letter or gives me my EAD back. The lawyer told us that it was against the rules to confiscate everything from an immigrant without any proof that the case has been approved. She talked to the manager to resolve the issue, meantime the officer got mad and decided to make our case pending. My lawyer said it was safer this way. We had our interview on 1/28 in Chicago office, nothing has been touched since. I wish you best of luck and hope the officer kept his word!

Congrats to you soni1952! :dance: You'll be getting the green card in the mail soon, don't worry. We did not get any stamp in the passport either. But immediately after the interview we got "Card production ordered" email and within 10 days, green card arrived.
