Our AOS interview is in 17 days...

I'm starting to gather the initial evidence that they requested on the interview letter!

Im excited and nervous at the same time!!

My husband just added me to his bank account about a week ago due to the fact that I needed a SS# to get on the account, he already recieved statements for June-July period which at the time I wasn't on the account so my name is not on the said statements. The next time he recieve his statements will be for August-Sept period and at that time my name will be on there, however I have a paper showing that I was added to the account and we order checks that shows both our names and adress on it!

The question is:

1) can I just take the paper showing that I was added to the account to the interview and just explain why I don't have the joint statements?

or do I need to show the physical joint account statements??

2) Do you think if I call the bank they will be able to get my name on the past statement period and resend them? Im not sure if thats possible!

3) would the paper checks be enough to prove that we have joint account together?

I would appreciate any response to these questions...

Thanx in advance

We have had a joint account for a couple of years now and i still dont get my name on the statements (my wife opened it when she got her job), but instead i have had the bank write a letter on their official letter head to say that its a joint acount in the following names... and been open since so and so and to call the bank if need more answers. I felt that should answer their questions. I was also going to print out online a statement to show that i deposit money into our account too just incase.

Hope that helps

Marcus

Thank you Marcus!!

Well I called our bank and I put in a request for a letter stating that I am a signer on the account which is better than not having any proof at all, even though I would love to have the actual statements but hey I'm satisfied:dance: :dance: ...they said the next statement we will receive is in August..I'm happy with the result!:thumbs:

I am still waiting for my GC approval or interview letter also. Sent my AOS paperwork on 3/24/08.

Thanks, it's appreciated. :) I went through this with the K-1 and found out after we got our NOA2 that they lost our paperwork, so going through this again is a bit worry-some to say the least. And yes, it's truly depressing when those who file after are already done, but I know I'm not alone. On the bright side, he's here with me and that's the best! :star:
