Just a little survey for a Friday morning...

I guess I am a memeber of the "Cougar Club" too. I'm 34 and my husband is 23.

Thanks for posting this thread it's a real pick me up! Just got off the phone with my brother-in-law and once again he's asking "What do you guys even have in common?" Anybody else get this?

hope you dont mind us outsiders posting...

I'm 38 and he is 29. I've known him since he was 19 and he has always been the wisest man I know. I get carded more than he does! Age means very little.

I guess that makes me a cougar too ...except here I think it's more referred to a good looking/sexy older woman...i'll take that! :)

I'm 45 and my husband is 31. I don't dress younger than I am either...so I really don't consider myself a cougar. LOL, what a term.

Wow. That's so rude!

No one in my family or P's family has ever made comments about our age difference. In fact, after I met the extended family in Germany at Christmas, all the cousins and aunts called his mom to say how much they liked me and how well suited we were to each other. If he were older no one would bat an eye....

According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_disparity...l_relationships if your in ur 40's and the other half is in his/her 20/30's, your a cougar! Sorry, its on WIKI, so it must be true!! lol I'm 35, my wife is almost 30, but she acts a lot older than I! her nickname is "structure" lol

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

this was the question that I was always afraid of getting when I crossed the border to visit the then boyfriend. He's almost 17 years older than me. he doesn't look or act anywhere near as old as he is, most people guess that he's about 5 years older. If we were the same age and had met when we were both 21, I wouldn't have given him the time of day. He was a bit of a wild child and anti-intellectual in his youth, I'm too much of a nerd to have been into that. also, life determines your age more than the calendar does. when we met we were both working seasonally for the Park Service, living in a dorm. he graduated from Uni only a few years before I did. neither of us had been married, neither had kids. And now that we're living in NM, both of us get carded for beer.

but this means that we get to go through all the great age comparisons. I was born 1 week before he graduated from high school. He had been blue-collar party boy for a decade before he went back to school-I was in junior high, etc. hours and days and years of fun comparing our age difference.

met summer 1999, summer 2000 hooked up-whoo hoo summer fling

summer fling failed to fizzle, married 2003

I-130 mailed 12/15/03

4/1/04 no word from NE contacted senators office, app found

NOA1 4/13/04

Gave up on ridiculously long US process-started Canadian

12/4/04 submitted app

LSS app returned because of missed signatures, lost in transit, resubmitted in June

9/28/05 landed, yippie

10/4/05 fly back to US to "finish up Master's" lose mind and switch to PhD

Damn it back to the US process

3/something/2005 finally get NOA2, no idea why it took so long

4/15/07 get case approval from NVC

8/9/07 Montreal here we come

10/14/07 hubby activated his visa
