opened the mailbox this morning, my aunt in england sent hubby and me kitkat chunkys, and cadburys dairy milk!!!! english chocolate rocks!

I have to know, we have both of these where I live are they not available where you are, or do they taste totally different?

The Kit Kats and Cadbury chocolate you get in the US is totally different. I know that Hershey's produce Cadbury here, under license. Not sure who does Kit Kat, it may also be Hershey. Look on the back and see who actually manufactures it. It tastes totally different to the English versions.

I got so excited when I moved here - they sold Cadbury Fruit and Nut in Walmart. That evening I sat down, got all comfy with hubby on the sofa, put on a romantic dvd and was all ready to enjoy my chocolate when.........wait a minute.............this doesn't taste right..............OMG it's horrible! I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I don't know what they do to chocolate here, but it always tastes weird to me, yet friends that have eaten it all their lives can't taste that rancid tang I seem to detect. It must just be a case of what you get used to.

It's probably a good thing I don't like American chocolate - goodness only knows what size I would be then!!!

Interesting, I had noticed there were mentions before about the Dairy Milk and I had always been a bit confused and figured I would ask this time. Now I want to try them from the england. I wonder if the ones sold in Canada would be the same as the English ones?

I guess the easiest way to find out would be to get someone in Canada to take a look at the chocolate wrapper over there. It will say where it was made on the back. If it was made in PA it is Hershey. But the UK may export to Canada, I don't know. I know that they had REAL Cadbury chocolate mini eggs in Walmart

this Easter and they were gooooooooooooooood!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Cadbury actually has a subsidiary in Canada, so tis the same as the UK. In the US, Hershey's has licensed the label, but not the recipe, so Cadbury bars in the US, are basically just a Hershey bar in a fancy wrapper.

There's a bit more imported chocolates here now, but still no "real" Cadbury's.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card
