Has anybody filed an official case inquiry with USCIS? Did it do any good? How long did it take to get an answer? (and why we're asking questions why does it take 30-45 days to tell me why they haven't finished my file despite that fact that its been over eight months?)

But anyway. I was just wondering how long you waited to get a reply.

Thanks.

I cannot believe that you are STILL not approved. Utterly ridiclulous. I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question, but at this point, I'd go for it if I were you. I just can't believe that no one has been able to help you. I mean, I can believe it, but its still shocking just the same. How is it possible that USCIS is allowed to be so inept? I really feel for you ric. I pray that you'll get your approval immediately.

Ric -- see the new thread "How to Shake Your NOA2 Loose..." and try that approach. It should work for a VSC filer like you, too, and certainly make you feel better regardless of the result.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

of course you know my story....but I did find out that it was not the email form the Senator that got the application approval it was the service inquiry...the lady told me they had to let you know something in 30 days but it ws normal to have a response in 15....however for me I filled out the request on the

phone with the lady....she sent it to Vancouver while I was on the phone with her...this was on a Thursday and we got a reply from CRIS on the following Tuesday saying that our application was in Vancouver and was being processed.....well I was not pleased because I allready knew this....but the next day I got another touch and the next day we got another touch on the second application and the next day we got the approvals on both....

Stuff is so random with this process.....I hate it for you....if you do not hear by the thirty days call again see what their response is....did the person put the service inquiry with you on the phone...did they send it while you were on the phone? Just curious....GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Aug. 17-"touch"

Aug. 19-FINALLY RECEIVED THE NOA1 HARD COPY for original application from CSC

October-19-CRIS sent message that they were moving our application to VSC?!?!?

I've tried calling. Every time I call, its with an officer, being worked on. Just keep waiting. It'll come. But I've been hearding that since NOVEMBER.

I asked my congressman to help, and his representative called in November, said it was an adjudicator. If youd on't hear in 30 days, email me again. We'll see what we can do. I waited until 35 days MORE, asked her to do something again, she calls them, they say its being worked on. She says if you don't hear in 30 days, call me back we'll definitely do something. I wait another 30 or so days, I go back to her and she says you know every case I've ever worked on took a year. Just be patient. But you shoudl hear in 30-45 days.

I filed the case inquiry with the national customer service people in January and never heard anything back. That's why I asked how long it really took to get an answer. I called Vermont again, and spoke with an officer that said since I'd waited so long I could file for an expidite, when I followed his instructions they said I awsn't in teh military was I, so no. Why would I be allowed to file that?

Just keep waiting.

... and waiting and waiting.

I made the mistake of doing a service inquiry twice.I feel that by doing this,I just gave them permission to take even longer to approve my case. The only thing that got them to move it was when I got my congessman involved.I suggest doing this before doing a service inquiry. It takes them up to 60 days to make a decision when you do it.

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.
June 3,2008-waiver filed at US Consalate in Panama
The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver
March 3,2009-US Consulate claims they have no record of our December visit, nor Manuel's interview
March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !
April 3,2009-US Counsalate asks for more court documents that no longer exist !
June 1,2009-Manuel and I go back to the US consalate AGAIN to give them a letter from the court in Colon along with documents I already gave them last year.I was surprised to see they had two thick files for his case !

June 15,2010-They called Manuel in to take his fingerprints again, still no decision on his case!
June 22,2010-WAIVER APPROVED at 5:00pm
July 19,2010-VISA IN MANUELITO'S HAND at 3:15pm!
July 25,2010-Manuelito arrives at 9:35pm at Logan Intn'l Airport,Boston,MA
August 5,2010-FINALLY MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
August 23,2010-Filed for AOS at the International Institute of RI $1400!
December 23,2010-Work authorization received.
January 12,2011-RFE
