My husband just called me from work and said he's not voting! I have to pick him up at the BART station and drive him to his polling place, if that's what it takes to convince him to vote. I very much believe in practicing your right, especially him being a USC and has the privilege to practice his right. I'm outta here.

Right on! Kick him in the pants if you have to!

Just got back from the caucus. Obama won by a large margin here. Since I had never been to a caucus it was an interesting experience.

I'd love to read a first-hand account of it. Care to write one up?

It was kind of crazy, I don't think they were prepared for the number of people that did show up tonight. At my precinct about 550 people voted (450 Obama, 99 Clinton and the a couple for candidates no longer in the race), around half of those people stayed around to vote on resolutions, and elect precinct members, city and district delegates.

They started out with electing the precinct chairs and associate chairs. If you wanted one of those positions you could pretty much nominate yourself and you got it.

I think the idea was to have someone else nominate you, but as with most city neighborhoods, you don't actually know most of your neighbors, even if your in the same building.

After that, it went on to delegate nominations for both the city and district conventions. If you wanted in, just sign the list. In Minnesota, becoming a district delegate is the first step to becoming a state or eventually a national delegate.

After that, people were allowed to offer resolutions that they wanted to be included at the district convention. Which pretty much all passed without any challenge.

Then they counted the presidential ballot and announced the results.

I did sign up to be a district delegate. I would like to go on to the state, but we will see. Being part of the caucus/convention process gives a different view of the political process than just voting in November.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
