Called NVC around 6:15 pm eastern and the lady said that they just received and entered our case into the system. she was amazed at how quickly i called after it got put in, she said if i'd called half an hour earlier she would not have seen it. told me to call back on friday and to see if got sent out. also told me i'd be getting a letter after they sent it confirming that it got sent out.

this seems like a common thing at NVC, cases not getting put in til very late in the day.

anyway, stoked things are moving along and i wish everyone still waiting a speedy approval!

IgorElin, Mox, Bablesgirl and all experts here: I need some advice from you as I am preparing for final interview and packet 4.

1. Should I send the original approval notice to my fiancee? Attorney sent me and her scanned copy of the original approval notice. My attorney is saying print out of that scanned copy is fine.

2. How old can the passport size pictures of her be in packet 3/4. She took some few pictures couple of months ago and wants to send the same pictures in packet 3 and packet 4. Is that OK? I am making sure consulate doesn't reject her pictures because it's not in few weeks.

As always, greatly appreciate your help,

1. Don't send the original approval notice. You will need that to file for AOS when the time comes.

2. As long as she hasn't changed her look much those pictures should be fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was kind of surprised to read that one should NOT send the original NOA2. I have only heard that it is absolutely necessary to have the NOA2 at the interview. What am I missing?

Thanks....and congrats to everyone as this process continues to develop

Finally got through to NVC but there is nothing in the system. Maybe I'll give them a ring Friday and it will either be a great or a not so great start to my 1 week spring break vacation.

Hi Mo Mati. On the official guide here on VJ it says... "6. A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail." I believe what you heard is that it is absolutely necessary to have the NOA2 at the AOS interview. Again, I could be wrong since I haven't gone through this part yet, so someone correct me if I am.

As for the DS-156 i think you can just fill it out online and then print it anytime. I thought that i read somewhere that when you fill it out online all you are doing is generating a barcode that you can then print out. There is a portion on the bottom of the form if someone other than the beneficiary is filling it out, i would assume you just put your name. then just get it to your fiance and have her sign it.

sound right? anyone?
