Hmmm, we don't have a lot of american guys petitioning for ME/NA girls, but that's another subject...

My husband will occaisionally get homesick. Minnesota is (shockingly) quite different from home. So, today I ordered him some egypt stuff from Flagline.

I got a friendship pin for him and me, so we match ;)

plus, a keychain and a little flag to put with our little american flag and UN flag that sit next to our tv.

Oooo, I hope he likes it.

We live about 30 minutes from an Arab grocery store/restaurant, so a few times a month we go there. This helps because he can get bread, olives, halal meat and white cheese ( I call it sqeaky cheese).

Phone cards to call home are a nice suprise. Mohammed is always in a better mood after calling, the family in Jordan passing the phone around to visit.

Watching local TV on www.mediahopper.com helps too.

hi rahma

Thank you for sharing this link and great idea :D

I just ordered a couple of those friendship pins for me and my husband and I'am sure he will like them too.

One other way he deals with homesickness is getting a regular delivery of his Turkish daily newspaper called "ZAMAN" which helps him to keep up with what is going on in Turkey as well as with other Turks in the USA :reading:

Hey Angel, not sure abt Minnesota, but at the local "int'l" store, they sell arabic coffee... a few different kinds. There's bound to be an online site to order from, but if you can't find any, I'm sure they would ship it from here or I could for that matter.... just let me know if you can't find it elsewhere.

I bought Abdel a Mr. Coffe Espresso maker, and some Starbucks French Roast coffee. He loves it. Now we just have to order him a new carafe because it got broken when we were working in the kitchen. They sell the replacements for all the other sizes at Walmart, but not the espresso one.
