How long until Case # appears online?

Our check was cashed on Thurs. so we have the receipt number from the back of the check and we have registered on the USCIS website as an online customer. However, when I do a search for our WAC# it says it doesn't exist...also tried adding it via our "customer" screen, and same thing. When can we expect to see our case/receipt number online?

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Typically after getting NOA1 letter, many times the number on the back side of a canceled check is un-readable so need to wait for the letter anyway.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Usually it would be right away, but for some reason, a lot of case numbers are not appearing online.

Thanks for your response. The number on the back of the check was actually very clear - it just isn't showing up on USCIS data base yet. We had heard there is sometimes a delay and wondering how long it usually took.

There are some reports that CSC are experiencing backlogs in updating the case online system. I wouldn't worry about being able to check it yet if your payment was only cashed on Thursday. Give it a couple of weeks, by which point you should have your hard copy NOA1 and will be able to check the number is correct.

I got my NOA1 for I-130 since December 28 and still in not in the system yet, so don't worry you are not alone. I think it gonna take them more time to update their online system.

Hi there, it does take a while for them to enter on their system (see my timeline below) and just as a heads up, the number on the back of your check MAY not be your assigned WAC number. This happened to us...I was trying to check the status online and nothing showed up....and then I got my NOA1 and the numbers were different. For my I-130 it was the same number but not for our I-129F.

Yeah, we filed our I-130 back in August; received our NOA1 on December 21 and we still can't access it online. We filed in Vermont and I was told by USCIS to ignore the website that says it could take 3-4 weeks to access. They said VERMONT is backlogged and might not be able to access it until late February.

Just a quick update...we recieved our NOA1 on Tues. and the reciept number was one digit different from the number on the back of the check. So we had been trying to access a number that didn't exist...the number on the NOA1 showed up online immediately.

Thanks for everyone's help!
