When I first came to VJ, I would get into it with some people that I thought were rude. I would even get really upset over things they wrote. But then I just started to realize...I DON'T KNOW THESE PEOPLE. Yes, there are those that help to provide some incredible support when I have needed it most, but you just have to learn not to take it personal. You have to realize that those being so ugly really don't know you as a person. You HAVE to look at as just a person behind a keyboard.

I will say that when you open up your personal life, since it's online, anyone can comment on it and you can't stop them from that. You just have to pick your battles and not get caught up in the small stuff....cuz it just doesn't matter. What matters is those that are IN your life that DO know you. This board is but a temporary stop in your journey....know what I'm say'in?????

I learned the hard way that when you ignore these comments...you make NO comment at all. Don't even post to it! Guess that's why I don't post as much anymore!!!!

well since I almost died last week and you have been nothing but nasty I think you can probably relate to what she is talking about.... I have a right to have a pregnancy ticker. I also have a right to say what I think as do everyone else around here...No one has forgotten the things I have said. They just have more class than you

The ignore feature works wonders.

Also, I agree with others that if you don't want people commenting on what you write then you should limit what you divulge. If you want to discuss private aspects of your life, you'll have to grow a thicker skin and learn to either take what others say with a grain of salt or ignore them. It may not be right but it's just how it is. And this section of VJ is the worst about that.

I find that i dont post as often in MENA for the same reasons...even though we all have a right to comment...this section of VJ is the most negative and rude we have on this board. I find more support in other sections of VJ and more positive outlooks. I almost hated to come back to posting here...but have come to the same conclusion..doesn't matter what others say...take what we can from the comments..and leave the rest behind. I dont want to lose out on the valuable information the experienced MENA AP'ers and applicants have to offer.

I truely wish it was a more positive place...and not so full of ridicule, judgments and lack of support. The long term AP'ers have a lot to offer us newbies...but our attitudes here can, have and will scare of others that could really benefit from the insight all of you have. And to be honest even the negative posts or rude commenters really do give good info...but its hard to see when you feel attacked..its all in presentation.

well....unless you make a big production on the forum about being pregnant and having a whole gamut of personal drama. past odd comments magically disappear into the breeze like dandelion fluff then. it's easy to fix ganja girl. just put up one of those pregnancy tickers on yr signature.

2 pregnancy tickers....MOST OF THE ATTACKERS ARE NOT EVEN IN THE PROCESS... rarely does anyone actually IN THE VISA PROCESS have something nasty to say.... its people who are over the hill and urinating down it on our heads ( those of us waiting and waiting)
