The Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has launched the Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Coupon Program (Coupon Program), as authorized in the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005.

Starting January 1, 2008, all U.S. households will be eligible to request up to two coupons, worth $40 each, to be used toward the purchase of up to two, digital-to-analog converter boxes. The tvs won't be able to get air waves, meaning if you don't have cable or satellite tv and just use an antenna on top of your tv to get channels. I didn't think many people did that anymore. But obviously I was wrong. Then you can get a converter box to convert the digital signal to your analog tv receptor. If you have cable or satellite tv, nothing will change.

If you still have an analogue TV, and still wear wing tip shoes, you may be in trouble.

But alas, the Government will provide a coupon, which will enable you to purchase a digital converter for your worn out TV. Worry not old timers!!!
