New processing times - is the USCIS lying?

The new processing date of the I-751 at the Nebraska service center is Feb 9, 2007, as of Dec 14, 2007 . As far as I understand, that means that at Dec 14, the oldest non-processed I-751 application should be from Feb 9, 2007, or am I wrong? There are many of us who have a NOA with a date before Feb 9 who haven't heard anything from the USCIS until Dec 14, and there seems to be none that has been approved or received a RFE after September this year. What is going on? I can understand that a few applications can be missed when counting, after all, not counting but processing is their job. There are, however, too many "missed" application now. I have read on their website that they have been overwhelmed this summer with new applications, especially naturalizations. So, why don't they admit that they can't make progress with old less-urgent application like ours now? Why are they lying instead?

Below are the data from some applicants out of the status thread, many of them having a NOA before 02/09/07. Please add yourself or give your data, if you fall into this time window.

UserName............Serv. Ctr.....Date of I-751.....NOA1 Date.......Biometrics......Approved

haozi101........... NSC...........11/27/06..........12/06/06........01/03/07........09/14/07

Bertrand............NSC...........12/19/06..........12/27/06........01/20/07........--/--/--

jennybirgitta.......NSC...........01/13/07..........01/18/07........02/14/07........--/--/--

dee.................NSC...........01/25/07..........01/29/07........02/20/07........--/--/--

chus................NSC...........01/26/07..........02/03/07........02/23/07........--/--/--

Peter T.............NSC...........01/27/07..........02/01/07........03/09/07........--/--/--

Illinois............NSC...........02/19/07..........02/23/07........04/18/07........--/--/--

Frances.............NSC...........04/02/07..........05/05/07........05/24/07........--/--/--

Kearinne............NSC...........04/09/07..........04/30/07........06/02/07........--/--/--

gyuwono.............NSC...........04/17/07..........04/20/07........05/18/07........--/--/--

charlie & yeng......NSC...........04/19/07..........05/01/07........06/02/07........--/--/-- (re-submitted 4/27/07)

Actually the February 6th date means that this is the date when the applications have been taken off the shelf and placed on an adjudicators desk... it does not mean they were approved by this date... Depending on their workload, it could be another 2 to 6 weeks before anything gets approved...

WHY can,t one of you guys call UCIS and let them knew that you are out of window and would like to know what happened

USCIS asks you to wait 30 days after you are out of the processing window, probably to allow any correspondence to reach you, and then to call the service number to place a request to look after your application. For the people whose NOA date is before 2007-01-27 that would be 30 days after Nov 14, and for the people like me whose NOA date is before 2007-02-09 that would be 30 days after Dec 15. If the service request doesn't give any results, we can either just wait while letting the USCIS extending our status with annual I-551 stamps into our passports or contact our federal representatives to put pressure on the USCIS to put their act together.

I am less angry at the slow processing of the I-751 than at the apparent dishonesty of the USCIS. Their processing dates don't make sense anymore when compared with the experience shared at this board. Why playing this charade? Is there a major breakdown inside the USCIS that has been covered up so far? The supposed increased number of application doesn't explain lying, does it? Why not just telling that all I-751 are shelved until further notice, because of more urgent applications? Our I-751 are less urgent applications, because we can work and travel in the meantime, until the USCIS adjucates our cases. And I don't fear a sudden rejection either, because it would probably not come out of the blue but only after a RFE and a video taped interview.

I haven't added your dates to the list yet, because your NOA is still way out of the processing window, but you should enter your dates into the long status thread.

I agree, the "lying" is more frustrating then anything else! The time lines on their website are COMPLETELY useless. it means NOTHING! because even if they pass those dates, you have to wait another 30 days to complain and then another 45 days to hear back from them! So now you're another 2.5 months out! It's ridiculous.

The people "updating the time line" would be of better use if they were reviewing and approving applications. anyhow, as I said previously, I have nothing to complain about, I knew this going in... all you can do is wait.

Well, I don't believe the processing dates they have in the USCIS website, at least for I751. My NOA had date "07/06/06". I had fingerprinting done on 7/24/07. I have not heard anything from them since then and any attempt to obtain information has been a waste of time. I applied for the Citizenship on 11/08/07 and had fingerprints done on 12/31/07. After I was done with the fingerprints I decided to try my luck with the information desk. I was praying that I would not get the guy that always gives useless information. I got this nice lady who could not understand why my case was taking so long. She looked in my file and gave me the same answer I have been receiving since August of this year. I was very disapointed and as I was thanking her she said, let me try one more thing: She did an extra check (nobody else did this for me before) and she said that the FBI just gave clearance for my case in December. She said that this was most likely the reason for such a long delay " FBI check". She said that I should hear something soon as my case was sent back to the NSC from the FBI.

I don't know what to believe but at least is some sort of explanation as to why my case is so delay. I think that the Naturalization application will expedite the I751 application.

Hello, I am so glad to find this topic! My husband filed for removal of conditions with an I751 of 1/16/2007 and we have heard of others who filed THIS summer and already have their renewed GC (NOT at the NSC though). He is going through the ceiling with disbelief at how this could take so long.

My husband also contacted an immigration attorney he told me to wait until 30 days past the receipt date, I doubt an attorney will be able to do anything.

As for the person who said the online status is the date the apps are put on someone's desk, that is not correct according to the website: The easiest way to monitor our processing time is on our website, where we post the filing dates of cases that we are now completing. We list this information for each kind of case and for every USCIS office and service center. This lets you project how long it will be before your case is completed.

So as the Orig Poster stated, they are being less than honest.

I have extended the list to everybody who applied later than the last approved I-751 but before the transfers to CSC speeded up processing. We share the same fate, regardless if our NOA date is before or after that official but ridiculous USCIS date of processing. I've also removed the service center column (all are NSC) and added a column for comments about service requests etc. If you're not in the list but should be, please add yourself or post your data separately in the thread.

Important: If you are on the list and get approved, we would like to know it - please write a posting in this thread.

Correct... they state the word "completing" not completed... note the difference.... Taking a file off the shelf and placing it on an adjudicators desk is what is termed "in the process of completing"... It does not say "We have completed to this date".. A big difference...

"The processing times are for applications that have been just completed."

Yep, that's what I saw too. Doesn't matter though, they can say what they want, apparently. I just looked at the list above here and it looks like the only approval took 1 year 9 months, so is that what we can expect? Sheesh.

I'm so f*ing fed up with Nebraska!!! :girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn::girlwerewolf2xn:

It wasn't bad enough that we had to go through this when waiting for the I-130 to be approved but for f*cks sake....what the hell is going on there??? I'm sick and tired of hearing about these speedy approvals people have going through other service centers (TSC excluded) and it pisses me off to no end that someone can file with Nebraska today and have a sweet lil transfer to CSC after a few weeks and bam, all of a sudden, they are approved. Nothing personal, but I'd like to for ONCE be on the receiving end of a speedy approval. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!

I can't believe that most likely we'll be filing naturalization papers before this stupid-a$$ permanent card comes through.:ranting::angry::ranting::angry::ranting:

I know many of you are going through the same thing, but it was just MY turn to vent.
