::There’s a laugh in my eyes::

There’s a waltz in my walk

And it’s been such a long time

Since there was hope in my talk

If you never knew

What it is that’s new.. it’s you

‘Cause when your hands are in mine

You set a fire that everyone can see

And it’s burning away

Every bad memory

To tell you the truth

If it’s something new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

The world’s a different place

Where nothing’s too hard to say

And nothing’s too hard to do

Never too much to go through

To tell you the truth

Everything that’s new.. baby it’s you

It’s you in the morning

It’s you in the night

A beautiful angel came down

To light up my life

My life, my life

Ohh

So if I get to grow old (oh if I get to grow old)

With many years behind me (many years behind me)

There’s only one thing I want (aahh)

One thing I need beside me

For all that you are

For everything you do

For all that you’ve done

Just for showing me the truth

I can send unlimited texts to my fiancée, but she's in the caribbean. There's a special rule there where the "011" isn't needed, just "1" and the country code, and the 7-digit number.

Some cell providers (including international ones) have an email gateway, might be worth checking into. (Meaning you could send something to an email address and it would get forwarded to his phone)

Also, asking on the African regional forum would be more likely to get replies from folks who know more details.

Dealing with the separation is HARD!!

Good luck!!

Most providers have some kind of SMS bucket which allows you to send (domestically) and received a few hundred SMS for a monthly fee. Sending internationally will still incur a fee.

Email to SMS gateway can be an easy way to send messages for free, but its depends on the provider having that feature.

Some sites offer sms sending for free or really cheap, depending which provider you are sending the message too. Look at http://www.sms.ac

OK, this depends on whether or not high speed internet is available where your SO is.

I got a Vonage V-phone, and hand carried it to Jakarta. Signed up for high speed internet there in my wifey's home. For $60/mo (internet), $25/mo (Vonage charge) she has a Houston number in her home, i can call it and she can call me, all we want, at no other charge. It's the best investment I could have made. It's crystal clear, better than Pingo (internet international calling service), calling cards, or even direct cell-to-cell calls. We're leaving the V-phone there so that Nit can stay in contact with her family when she gets here.

The internet service we got there smokes, 1500 kbps, as opposed to the 1200 kpbs that I have here on cable. We tried the wireless internet service there first, it was a little cheaper but it was spotty so we dumped it.

Hope that helps

David and Nitadyah

since you are familiar with texting with Yahoo and MSN... simply go to your preferences.. and have the messenger sign you into mobile when you are offline... if you dont want anyone else spaming you.. you might want to each start a new account that only the two of you know.. when the both of you sign off.. sign into mobile.. then .. you can freely send messages to each others mobile.. via yahoo or msn...

only problem is.. when the carrier that is used.. .. if the carrier does not accept or allow yahoo or msn. then. it is a problem... ..

Jan and I .. used to do yahoo and msn mobile quite frequently.. .. now.. for some reason.. last year.. or so.. where he lives in India.. or his phone service.. does not connect the messenger.. or Yahoo.. ... so... back to the archaic texting. or phone calling.. augh

You need pretty good internet access to use Vonage reliably. It doesn't have to be super high bandwidth, but it needs to have relatively low latency. If you don't need the ability to call phone lines, most IM clients have a computer to computer voice feature.

I've yet to found a good rate for an sms international package. It's 75¢ per with my carrier. But by fiancée isn't in to it any way, so I've never looked very hard.

I use at&t as well and they do have an international text msg plan. It only covers 100 text messages so it's limited, but it CAN save you some money if you will for sure use the 100 txt's/month. Click me!

My fiance and I just use internet websites that allow you to send free text messages from your computer. If he's at home he uses it and I just text from my phone (for a fee) and vise versa. He uses Rogers and they actually have a text message application on their website. Maybe you could look into something like that :)

i cant afford the text messages. me and my fiancee use our nextels with unlimited international two way for 10 dollars more a month on both of our plans and i use a recharchable phone card from enjoyprepaid.com . they got pretty good rates.

Alex has a Helio phone. I'm not sure about the precise ins-and-outs but I do know he gets unlimited free international texts. The monthly package is a little steep but obviously if you're texting a lot it's going to save you a fortune! I have no idea if the service is available in your area, but I can safely say there are no catches - he's been sending me at least 900 texts a month and so far he's not been charged a cent!
