Hello VisaJourney folks,

I am not sure if this question has been asked before on this forum, I tried to search, but cases were mostly of upgrade from F2A to IR1/CR1 when I130 is approved or even before that. Sorry in case its repeated.

Here is my situation : I am a permanent resident and filed for my wife in F2A category. All procedures from USCIS and NVC(6 steps) have been completed and the case at NVC is also completed as of Jan 2016, and we are just waiting for the PD to be current for IL.

Now, I am getting naturalized sometime next month, have an interview tomorrow, and hopefully an oath soon.

Question is : In this case , after I naturalize, what is the email id I need to send my Naturalization Certificate to NVC for upgrading the case, and what shall be the write-up and subject heading for the same? And what documents, apart from Naturalization Certificate and Case Completion mail that I need to send.

Also, is emailing to NVC enough? or do I need to physically post all the docs to NVC? What is the time-frame for getting the case upgraded and then receive IL thereafter?

Thanks,

Anishp

hi

at this point I really don't know if you should, it depends if your case is at the NVC or has already been sent to the consulate where your wife will have the interview

you can call to see if the case is at the nvc stage, if not then there is nothing you can do but to wait for the interview letter

once the case has left the nvc, there is no way to update your information

Thanks for your reply,

The case is still at NVC as the PD is still not current, which is Feb 2015, the current date for F2A is 15Nov 2014.

So, the file is still at NVC, but all steps have been completed, i.e AOS filed, AOS and IV fees paid, ds260 filled up, and have got confirmation from NVC that the case is complete.

Thanks,

Anishp
