Bringing Mother of Permanent Resident from Peru

We are applying for a B-2 tourist visa for my husband's mother to bring her to visit from Peru. I am the US citizen and my husband is a permanent resident (came here on K1 visa 9 years ago and hasn't applied for his citizenship yet). Anyone gone through this type of application through Peru? I have heard that it's hard to obtain a tourist visa there. Any advice would be helpful. We just had our first baby and would really like to bring her here to visit for awhile.

I know one of the main things is proving that she will return to Peru. She doesn't have a job there, but her name is on some things like property, utilities, etc.. I'm not sure this is enough that they will approve her.

hi

you can't bring anyone, she will file for a tourist visa and show ties to her country based on her own merits

there is nothing you can do, there is no sponsoring for a tourist visa

she needs more than that, since she has family here, and she could stay illegally in the US. so she must overcome the intent to stay, showing proof that she has to return to her country

...and.....the CO must also be convinced that she is not coming merely to provide free child care so that you can return to work....(something that many people forget)....yes, there is nothing wrong with a grandmother wishing to see her grandchild....but there is something against our laws when those same grandmas provide child care for weeks and weeks and weeks, so that the mother of said child can avoid paying for child care....
